I've been on a lensbuilding roll recently.

28 published lenses.
5 in the first tier
another 9 in second tier.

Getting about 700 visitors per week from all the lenses. I had a major milestone last week when my zucchini lens topped 100 visitors in one week. Today it says I've had 170 visitors in the last week. This is encouraging.

Another milestone last week: my first royalty. Only $.45 but it's a start. Made an affiliate sale last month as well.

Today was payday: $56.45. Not stellar, but more than the previous month. My goal is to always make more than the previous month.

My goal for the month is to keep building as many lenses as possible to top 50 by the end of September. After I meet that goal, I'll market more, but for now I want to get those lenses published.

Everyone's all astir because lensrank has tanked in a serious way for a huge number of us. Somebody has to fill the vacuum at the top, but we can't figure out exactly what's going on.

I'm finding that I can't dictate goals and quotas when it comes to building new lenses. When I'm inspired, I work non-stop for many hours to produce a lens. But until inspiration hits, I cannot build a lens.

Doing moderately well at critiquing new lenses and greeting newbies. Help get my name and lenses out there as well as making new possible friends.

Some days, I visit, rate and comments dozens of lenses. Other days, just a few. It's important to participate in the community.

Joining groups when I feel like it.

Backlinks are suffering, and so is publicizing with articles and extra-Squidoo forum participation. Need to work on that.

All in all, it's helpful to have some loose goals in mind, but I work better when I can plan a few hours or a day ahead, rather than weeks.

Giant Squids announcements came out today. A lot of my friends made it in this time. I'm excited for them. I know how much work it takes. I'm up to 19 active lenses now, having built 6 in the last 2-3 weeks. So I keep plugging away. I'll be a giant yet.

Tough day. It's dinnertime, and so far about all I've done is updated Science Explanations lens. I'm gluing feathers onto a hat and cape for Molly's school costume.

Just back from the elementary school talent show. Maybe there are some days that I

Updated Edible Science Experiments some more (ranked jumped way up to 998 today from 1773).

Updated Mock Apple Pie with some links to funny sites and pictures.

Visited lots of Squidoo neighbors and left comments and stars. How many? Definitely more than 10.

Left comments at several blogs. My name backlinks to Edible Science Experiments. I don't know if that counts or not.

Updated Cool Gadgets for Baby Boomers (ranked 2235 today). Added list to boomer blogs and boomer social networking sites. I'd love to boost this one to under 2000 LR.

Updated Edible Science Experiments (ranked 1773 today). Added module on the science of eggs. Need to add at least one module a day to this one.

Made 3 backlinks: 1 each for Cool Gadgets for Baby Boomers, Mock Apple Pie, and Edible Science Experiments.
