Being fair to your hair - Hair products that work for me!

Hair products that work for me....and might work for you too...Along with some hair style tips.....

Taking a look at some hair products that bring out the shine and beauty of hair.

What does your hair say to you when you wake up in the morning?

Ever get the feeling that your hair has a mind of it's own? I have naturally wavy hair so some people think its easy to have a good hair day. Yes, I have the choice...natural, curly, or straight. But my hair, on the other hand, makes its own choice (especially on humid or rainy days).

My bathroom looks like the hair section of any department store. It's amazing how many products are available that will help you straighten or curl your hair. Some work really well and, let's face it, some make hair an unruly, hard, and dry mess.

I have made it a mission to try different hair products and find what works best for me and for my hair (on a budget of course). In sharing my thoughts with you, I hope to help you find hair products that work that you might not have otherwise thought to buy.

"Plunking" wavy hair into beautiful curly hair...

Okay so I saw this video on Pursebuzz.com from a woman named Dawn. "Plunking" was the theme and I was confused! Basically, you allow your hair to dry about 50% or so and add your frizz serum and/or mousse (and any other curling product you may use - I use Ion Curl Solutions Styling creme).

But that's not all. You then lay your hair on a t-shirt (I used a head kerchief my first time "plunking" but believe it or not the t-shirt works better) and wrap your hair up. I chose to leave my hair wrapped up overnight to ensure that it dried completely.

And when I woke up what did my hair say to me? Hello gorgeous!...It was wonderful. Soft and bouncy curls that looked like they had been there all along. Give it a try and send me your feedback.

Day after "plunking" hair

And I was running late for work....

I over slept today and had a slow start to my morning. My hair was still curly from "plunking" yesterday and I didn't have time to condition it (like I normally do). So what to do?

First, I clipped my growing bangs back with bobbie pins. Then I put my hair in a mid pony tail and clipped that with a hair clip. I then wrapped the hair under and clipped that in the hair clip as well. Hard to explain but you can check out the video I am posting from pursebuzz to get a better picture.

In the end I was left with a curly bun that I thought was rather cute...and even better comfy. Try it out!!!

A nice 2 minute Hair updo

I like to leave my hair curly and pull it a little tighter......What do you prefer?

Adding a head band or hair kerchief to an up-do

For those days when waking up late means ignoring your hair a bit....

Here is a headband look where it looks like you have spent a good amount of time making it look great when all you really had was a whopping five minutes to get out of the house. Works well in the summer months too, when it's hot, hot, hot outside. Enjoy.....

Similar look as above....Different hair kerchief......

Braids as a headband.....

What a great look...and not too hard either....

As usual, I have been pursebuzzing. I love her website and love trying out the different hair and makeup tips even more. I went to a baby shower this past weekend and wanted to wear my hair differently. This is a great look and the tutorial was easy enough to follow. Of course I don't have the same hair type as the pretty girl in the video but I "plunked" and added the braids and voila......

Braids.....as a headband.....

although my hair is already curly, I do have some hard times with it when my hair wants to be straight in some areas and curly in other areas. SO I definitely think this "plunking" technique will keep my hair curly all around... so thanks
