Ibanez Guitars For Beginners

It's an issue many parents struggle with. Your child wants to try a new interest that costs money. An interest that potentially could cost a LOT of money.

Of course, you want them to explore all avenues to find their passion in life. But you are realistic also. You walk by the hockey equipment gathering cob webs in the garage, the thousands of baseball cards you know are somewhere in the attic, and remember the black belt in karate that never progressed further than a yellow belt. Let's face it, many kids will try many things before realizing their passion.

Your teen is now convinced he will be the next Eddie VanHalen, Paul Gilbert or Eric Clapton. You want to give him or her every opportunity to discover if this will be the case, but you don't want to add an expensive guitar and all it's trimmings to the other items in the "no longer intererested" collection.

So which guitar do you invest in that will provide you a great value for your money and enable your teen to become the next Joe Satriani?

Well, having been at that point and now nearly four years later, neither my teenage son nor myself have regretted our purchase of the Ibanez as a guitar for the beginner. He is now long past the beginner stage, but the Ibanez is still serving him well, as well as my wallet!

When we purchased the Ibanez Jumpstart package four years ago, everything we needed came in that one package. There was nothing else to buy. Of all the guitar brands, Ibanez had the best value because everything was included.

And the good news? Four years later, the guitar, amp and all the accessories are still functioning just fine. The only purchases have been strings and picks!n (Updated 2/8/11: the headphones did need replacing after approximately three years)

Update 4/6/2011: It seems our Ibanez investment is continuing to pay off. My son has cooled off a little with playing the electric guitar and is spending more time on his acoustic guitar as well as playing the drums. The good news? My oldest daughter who is twelve and plays the drums and keyboard is now desiring to learn how to play the guitar. The Ibanez still in pristine condition is faithfully guiding her in her guitar journey!
