Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09
Fun:5.0 out of 5 starsI play the game on my 720p TV with an HDMI connection. The graphics are incredible. Gameplay is very realistic. You have to work for every inch. The ball isn't going to automatically fall in the hole if you come close. Plenty of courses and included Pro's to keep me happy. Kudos, EA Sports!

==================================================
Part 1: Equipment
--------------------------------------------------
Believe it or not, the equipment you use in your golf game can truly make a difference in how well you strike the ball. With new technologies in club designs and materials used to make the clubs, you can get overwhelmed at the various choices you will have when buying golf equipment. We'll look at this section from the perspective of your skill level.
Beginner - Average scores over 100
Because you are just learning the game, you will want to have clubs that are more forgiving when you make bad shots - and those bad shots will come. The beginning golfer should be looking for clubs that are the most forgiving when the ball is struck off-center. Perimeter-weighted clubs place the most weight of the club around the edges, which prevents the club head from turning with a poorly hit shot.
If you would like something that makes it very easy to get the ball in the air, you should look for irons that have more sole weighting. Sole weighting lowers the center of gravity by putting the weight under the ball, helping to get it in the air quicker.
Titanium is stronger, denser and lighter than steel, thus the club head can be made larger with the same amount of material. A larger head also means the size of the sweet spot will be larger. Since off-center shots will make you lose distance, a larger sweet spot will be the most forgiving.
Some heads feature an "offset" design to prevent your shots spinning left-to-right and giving a straighter ball flight.
The offset means the face is slightly behind the hostel of the club head. This gives you an extra split second in the swing to get the face back to the square position.
For your driver, the larger the head the more forgiving it will be. These are all going to have the largest face, producing the largest sweet spot. This is very important, since a beginner doesn't always hit the ball right in the middle of the clubface. (Studies have shown you lose 10 yards for every 1/8" of an inch you miss the sweet spot!!!)
For fairway woods, the lower profile woods make it easier to get the ball airborne, as the weight is mostly below the center of the ball.
Graphite shafts are the most forgiving shafts for poorly hit shots. They absorb the vibration like a shock absorber, allowing for a much better feeling shot. Graphite shafts are lighter weight, so you will pick up some swing speed which will give you more distance. For this reason graphite shafts are more popular than steel shafts in the metal woods when distance is your primary goal.
Steel shafts don't feel as soft, and they are heavier, but they are more accurate than graphite. For this reason, they are usually better for the irons, since you are less concerned with distance and more concerned with accuracy since you are hitting into greens and at the pin.

Professional Golf
As with any other sport golf also does have a professional level. The difference between playing professional golf and amateur golf, however, can be a very fine line. There are a lot of amateur golfers that can score at the professional level, however, they are unable to do it consistently and often miss out on the tournaments that can qualify them to get on the tour.Nonetheless, it is a dream of many golfers to play professional golf one day and make a living doing something that they truly, truly love. Your office is the course, and your co-workers are people who love the game just as much as you do. You share common interests at the professional level of golf and it can be a very satisfying career. But isn't that obvious?
Qualifying to play professional golf is another story altogether. The field is very competitive and it can be extremely difficult to break through. Some people try their whole lives to qualify and always come up short. It takes a lot of practice, a lot of dedication, and an ability to take a lot of disappointment to play professional golf, so know what you're in for!
To get started playing professional golf, you will first have to qualify for "Q School" or Qualifying School. Q Schools are annual qualifying tournament for leading golf tours like the PGA and the LPGA. In Q School, a fixed number of players win membership to the tour for the following season. In professional golf, this is referred to as your "tour card". You will then be able to play in most of the tour's events without having to qualify.
Getting through the Q school is very competitive and most professional golfers never achieve it. There can be up to four stages to negotiate each of them like a regular golf tournament with only a small number of players going on to the next state. The final qualifying school may be played over up to six rounds compared with the standard four rounds in a professional golf tournament. However, players who are successful at Q school can reach the elite level of competition very quickly.
You can also qualify to play professional golf in other ways. Finishing near the top of the money list on the tour's developmental tour, winning a tournament on the tour after qualifying or as a sponsor's invitee, or winning enough money on multiple events on the tour to meet whatever criteria the tour may lay down for promotion to full membership. This last one was how Tiger Woods gained his first tour card.
Playing professional golf is not an easy career to pursue, but it is a great way to make a living! Persistence, patience, and a great game of golf can all get you on your way to playing professional golf, but be realistic and know that it will take time.

Taking business on the golf course
There's probably no better place in the world to conduct business than on the golf course. Business executive all over the world know that sharing a common frustration with their golf game promotes the perfect environment for business talk. More partnerships and businesses have been changed on the golf course than you could ever imagine.
When you are conducting business on the golf course, you have the luxury of sharing a common goal - to beat each other. Yet at the same time, when you are playing with business associates on the golf course, you really need to practice some decorum when playing golf with a potential business affiliate.
So how do you balance business with sport on the golf course? Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to this question. Just as with any decision in business, you have to weigh the outcome with what is happening. If you are trying to land a big account, you probably won't want to make fun of your potential client's missed chip shot.
However, you won't want to gain a reputation as a suck-up either. If your potential client makes a 7 on a par 3 hole, you really don't want to whoop and holler because it will be obvious you are just trying to stroke his (or her) ego. Conducting business on the golf course is a delicate proposition, so start with a plan in mind.
DO NOT - and we stress this a lot - DO NOT begin your golf match with a declaration of what you hope to accomplish by the end of the round. If you want to insure that you will be landing that big account, don't put on your golf glove on tee #1 and declare your intention. The idea behind conducting business on the golf course is to make friends first and then do your business.
As you are playing, keep in mind that you will want to bring your "A" game as much as is humanly possible. Sure, you might be playing against a person who is head and shoulders above you, but if you are the better player, DON'T let them win just because you want to gain their business. beginners play golf like you mean it and gain that prospect's respect.
There is much business that is done on the golf course every day of every week. You won't find a better place to make a business deal than on the links. However, you will want to use some form of decorum to insure that your business goals will come to reality. Taking business on the golf course could be the best business decision you ever make!

Beginners golf tips thats it for now
Many golfers miss this fine point, when you start to developing your perfect swing.
Timing is one of the variables that you need to watch and control. Make each movement in the correct succession, while maintaining a consistent speed. Do not do a slow back swing and then a fast downswing; both parts of the swing should be about the same speed. When you get this right, you will notice remarkable results. Utilizing the effort of your swing in the proper place, you can get as much or more distance out of your ball as if you had just 'ripped' it, but with far more accuracy. One of the most important things to remember is practice, practice, practice.
To perfect your swing, do it on a driving range first.
Then take it to the course and amaze your partners.
Once you start to master these techniques of stance grip and swing, you will find that your mindset about the game starts changing. You will start having more fun on the course with your relaxed swings, and soon, will be dropping strokes left and right.
