Behavior Bear Mask

Free printable activity

Are you looking for a free Halloween activity to do this year? You've come to the right place! Below you will find a video of Joni from Characters of Character making a mask of Behavior Bear, one of the nine Characters that the nonprofit organization Characters of Character has created. You can print your own template and make your very own mask right along with her. This is a perfect activity to do at home, or in the classroom.

Teaching children good behavior

Behaving at an early age

Behavior Bear teaches children the meaning of good behavior. Portraying appropriate behavior helps prevent distractions for others. If negative behaviors are not addressed at an early age, the child will grow up to believe that those actions are appropriate and continue depicting them throughout life. Behavior Bear is a Character that was created in order to help children easily relate to behavior - what it means, the importance of behavior, why they should make conscious positive decisions, etc. Behavior Bear not only allows the child to understand what good behavior is, but also internalize the meaning and make positive decisions as a force of habit. Support Characters of Character

As much as our organization would love to be able to continue bringing free resources and tools like the video on this page, it just isn't possible without funding. Characters of Character is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a firm foundation for children to develop strong civic values. We believe that reaching children at an early age is imperative for them to grow up to be successful in making positive life decisions, academic achievement, and making this world a better place. You can help Characters of Character with our mission by making a donation through PayPal below. Every dollar makes a difference, and every donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued support.

Characters of Character is committed to making a difference in the lives of as many children as possible. Our organization establishes a strong foundation for children to develop strong civic values.

Suggestions to improve your mask making experience

  • Use thicker paper (preferably cardstock) to make a more sturdy mask
  • Add other supplies like glitter to add a little more 'spunk' to your mask
  • Make this a group activity, especially if you're at home. If you're using this at home, don't just hand the template to your child or children and let them have fun with it. Get involved directly by making your own mask with your child or children.
  • Make sure to reinforce positive behavior, even after the masks are made. Sometimes children have a tendency to get riled up rather easily and it is important to remind them of their own actions. Make sure that if they do get a little too excited after the mask is made, that you are reinforcing the meaning of good behavior and allowing them to see that they should be making more positive decisions with their own behavior.
  • Be silly! Have fun with completing the masks and allow the children involved to be just that - children! Use your imagination and encourage others to do so the same.
