Types of beers
Abbey
Abbey beers are brewed by commercial breweries (ex. InBev) and are tied to an abbey (usually with the same name, ex. Leffe is tied to the Notre Dame de Leffe). The term "Abbey beer" doesn't indicate a beer style.

Amber
Amber beers are a collection of beers with a distinctive color (Amber obviously). They are a modification of the British ales and they carry around 5% alcohol contents.

Barley wine
The very strong ales internationally labeled as Barley wine have an alcohol percentage of 8% to 12%. They are usually brewed for celebrations and can be stored and aged for many years due to their high levels of hops and alcohol.

Blonde or Golden Ale
Blonde ales obviously have a blonde color and have a medium bitterness taste and some sweetness from malt. Some brands feature a fruity taste, but it's never dominating.

Brown ales
Not quite the same as Dubbel ales, Brown ales distinguish themselves by the brown color of dark malt used in the beer. They often have a chocolate or caramel taste due to the roasted malt. They are strong and have a malty taste with a nutty flavour.
