Your first beginning STEPS into the art of BELLY DANCING
For those who love to Belly dance, or those who admire those who Belly dance from afar. I want to share some great resources I found about Belly dancing. I have uploaded several you-tube belly dancing videos, searched for great instructional DVD's, books, and one of the most important things about belly dancing is MUSIC! Enjoy looking over my lens.
Belly dancing OR also known as Raqs Sharqi or Raqs Baladi is a beautiful art form, it isn't stripping, it isn't some type of girlie show. Most who appreciate it, are other women, which may be surprising. When you have taken a couple of Belly dance classes yourself, you come to appreciate others level of artistry.
It takes awhile to get some basic dance steps down, but you have to just have fun with it. Plus, you can meet and make some new friendships in a Belly dance class too. Like most gals out there, we all enjoy putting on sparkling things, right? That's half the fun of Belly dancing!!
You don't have to aspire to become a professional belly dancer to enjoy belly dancing. It's a great new way to exercise, if you are tired of the old gym scene. Plus, it's fun and probably completely new to you. You may of never thought of belly dancing as a form of exercise. You will develop flexibility, strength, stamina, timing and muscles you never knew you had.
So this may be your first beginning steps into Belly dancing. Be patient with yourself, when you first start Belly dancing. It took me three full courses to just get down some basic steps!! But I'm not exactly coordinated, I was raised as a tomboy, I was used to more athletic type of exercise. But I really wanted to try something non-competitive, low-impact, feminine, and fun. Belly dancing embraces and celebrates femininity, it's not about bulking up, it's about accepting your womanly curvy body.
At the bottom of this lens there is a directory of links, so if you want to enroll in a Belly dance class in the future you can locate one. But if you never decide to dance, you can also incorporate the influence of belly dancing into your everyday fashion style.
