This device will eliminate overcharging which could shorten the life of your batteries or even cause a fire. Simply plug the conserve socket into your existing socket, set the timer and the power, electricity, will shut off automatically. Belkin Conserve Energy Settings
The 3 settings are:30 Minutes (Recommended by the instructions for hot coil items, such as hair straighteners, cloths irons, soldering irons, toaster ovens, coffee makers, and fans).
3 Hours (Recommended by the instructions for Mobile Electronic Chargers, such as cell phone, MP3 players, digital cameras)
6 Hours (Recommended by the instructions for Large Cordless Chargers, such as for handheld vacuum cleaners, cordless drills).
