My Experience @ Bell Rock

Connecting with the silence of the inner Self

I describe the experience I had a Bell Rock Vortex in the book I wrote about the trip I took in 2008 from BC Canada to Sedona AZ. I will recapitulate the experience a bit here.

There is the conception of ego that there is something mysterious, magical, or powerful about Bell Rock or the 'Vortex'- as if there's something 'unknown' to be discovered through the outer senses.

I believe that all power arises from within, from the Self. If one intends to hang out with God on Bell Rock when they go, one will look upon it with wonder. If one intends to take pictures of "UFO's" at Bell Rock, one will find something that looks like a UFO and photograph it. If one intends to see it as nothing more than a big rock with twisted trees on it, one will see a rock with twisted trees.

I went with the intention to connect with the Source of existence, and I found total and absolute peace.

Release

Letting go of painful programs and processes

Prior to arriving at Bell Rock the first time, I intended to release remaining blocks to happiness. I'd been releasing those blocks since the start of the trip, and the visit to Bell Rock was at the end.

It was a release that was wholly felt from the inside out- like the aftermath of an all body orgasm, or running that final race and winning with the last bit of power one never imagined one might still have. There was a comforting, silent relief that literally spread through the veins and into the the extremities, relieving all bodily and spiritual pain- literally like morphine after surgery. The muscles and skeleton felt weightless.

While the state was silent it still had essence, and the essence was of purity, absolute sanity and well-being. It was not difficult to sit upright in this state and allow it to wash over without feeling the need to lay down and go to sleep; I was fully aware. Consciousness expanded from the inside out, and it included everything, yet there was nothing to behold, nothing to see, nothing to hear, nothing to make sense of with the senses.

It was an experience of complete and total inner fullness and vitality, a vitality that was like Bell Rock itself- magnificent, and effortless in its beingness. A rock simply is a rock, it remains unchanged in its nature by the elements, as does consciousness. A location is a location- its associated diversity, specialness, or mystery lie in perception not form. Consciousness Itself is that which rests upon a rock with wonder, and beholds it with Joy.

What a serene place this looks like. Sadly, I am no where near Arizona, and I didn't know about this when I was (I used to drive through AZ on my way to and from college in NM). The next time I'm in that part of the country I'll see if we can stop here.

I have been there. My husband and I were visiting Arizona many years ago. We rented a car in Tuscon and were driving up to Sedona. We were almost there and I pointed to that rock formation and said we had to stop there first. "It was important." I did a brief meditation there and it was so powerful and beautiful. The rocks around us looked like seats and benches. We were alone but it sure didn't feel that way. Then we drove on. I never knew what it was called.
