Cheap Bellatrix Lestrange Costume For Sale

The easiest and quickest way to have a Bellatrix Lestrange costume is to buy the Death Eater costume pictured on the right and then modify it using the steps I outline on this guide.

However, if you don't want to buy this costume, any long black sundress/gown will do. You can buy such a dress on Ebay or your local 2nd-hand shop. An old witch or vampire costume is also a good idea.

Important Note: Proceed with caution when you're trying to modify your dress. Make sure you know what you're doing!!!

So now you've got a black dress.

If you're buying the pre-made Death Eater costume, you don't have to modify it. However, it's possible to change this too if you want.

Give the bottom part of the dress a distress look. I think this is the whole essence of the Bellatrix Lestrange dress. It needs to give the effect that the dress has been worn many times and has not been changed at all -- a bit dirty and scruffy.

To achieve this, you can cut some part of the bottom of the dress and distress it (see video below for ideas on how to distress clothing) or make it look torn.

You would ideally want the dress to be below the knee but above the ankle.

If you have a long-sleeved dress, you can also cut off the sleeves and modify it.

Now that you have the sleeves separate from the dress, unpick or cut the stitch that runs through the sleeves. Once you've done this, you need to stitch it back again. But this time leave a gap between the two sleeves so that it looks like it's got one gaping hole.. (This is a bit difficult to explain. The picture on the right of Bellatrix' sleeves might help.)

Next, sew the sleeves back on to the dress, but sew it back like the way you sewed the seams on the sleeves.

The corset is an in important part of the Bellatrix lestrange costume, so make sure you got one.

If you've already got a corset or underbust, then use that by all means. As long as it's black, it should do just fine.

Listed below are some corsets that you can buy online as well. Corsets can be as pricey as $100 but the cheaper ones listed below should be okay for this purpose.
