How Do I Lose My Belly fat?

When I was young I was mean and lean. No kidding, until I hit 35 I never had a problem with belly fat therefore i never asked how do I lose my belly fat? Then one day I stopped long enough to really look at my profile in the mirror. Horrors! What happened? My belly had grown in lightning speed as soon as I became middle aged.
