Ben 10 has generated 3 separate TV series through Cartoon Network, 2 live-action movies, 1 cartoon movie, and 6 video games. Kids just love Ben 10. They want to be Ben 10. He is their hero. As a Ben 10 Mum, I think Ben Tennyson makes a much better role model and hero for kids than a lot of the celebrities or professional athletes who are pushed in front of them on a daily basis. Ben is a kid, just like them, who found a special watch called an Omnitrix which allows him to change into various alien superheroes. Like any normal 10 year old kid, he lets it go to his head. He gets moody, he fights with his cousin Gwen (who just happens to be the same age and shares his birthday), and he learns from his experiences. Without the show coming across as being preachy. As he ages in each series he has gone from being a peer to being a big brother kids can look up to.

Each TV series tracks Ben Tennyson at a different age. In the original Ben 10 he is 10 years old. In Ben 10: Alien Force Ben is 15 years old, complete with out of control hormones. In Ben 10 Ultimate Alien he is 16 years old.

Original Ben 10 Series Posters

In the original Ben 10 series, young Ben Tennyson and his cousin, Gwen Tennyson are travelling around the USA with the Grandpa Max in a caravan called "The Rust Bucket". Ben discovers a special watch which when he places it upon his wrist allows him to change into one of 10 different alien creatures. With the help of Grandpa Max and Gwen he is able to fight assorted alien and earthly adversaries, keeping to world safe.

Along the way we discover that Gwen has a few talents of her own, and Grandpa Max reveals that his work as a plumber had more to do with fighting aliens than fixing sinks.

Ben 10 Alien Force Posters

Young Ben has grown up. He'd removed the Omnitrix and given up his superhero duties for a while, but put it back on again when he discovered that Grandpa Max was missing. Joined by Gwen and one-time enemy Kevin E. Levin they try to locate Grandpa Max by following clues discovered hidden with their Plumber's Badges. Along the way, they meet other plumber's kids, each with their own alien ancestry and special ability. And they fight the DNAliens, overseen by the High Breed, who are trying to take over the Earth.

Once more it is up to Ben 10, with a bit of help from Gwen and Kevin and a whole new set of alien heroes, to save the world from an alien invasion.

Omnitrix Poster

The source of Ben's powers, and coveted by alien evildoers across the galaxy and beyond. The Omnitrix is able to scan alien DNA and transform its wearer into that alien. Created by Azmuth, a member of the Galvan race to be a way of helping difference races to understand each other, unfortunately others see it as a weapon and want to possess it for themselves.

The Omnitrix was sent to Earth to be given to Max Tennyson for safe keeping. It went off course though and ended up in the hands of his grandson, Ben Tennyson.

Ben 10 Ultimate Alien Poster

The third series of Ben 10, currently showing in America, and Ben is nearly an adult. The Omnitrix was destroyed at the end of Ben 10: Alien Force and Ben has a new Ultimatrix to figure out. With the Ultimatrix Ben is able to access all of his aliens and can now "upgrade" some of them to an Ultimate form. That's a good thing since the alien invaders haven't stopped and the Earth is in just as much peril.

Ben 10: Race Against Time

This was the first live-action movie, starring Lee Majors as Grandpa Max.
Ben and Gwen return to their hometown of Bellwood at the end of their summer with Grandpa Max to discover that the aliens aren't finished yet. Eon, an alien captured by the Plumbers 200 years earlier has come back to retrieve a device called the Hands of Armageddon. Activating the device will open a rift between Eon's home world and the Earth. This, Ben and the other Plumbers cannot allow to happen.
