I feel like I've read about him before. It's amazing how these stories come about. They are always miracle stories about how someone who was considered a nobody with no direction and no possible way out was able to break free and improve their situation for the better.

i saw the movie [GIFTED HANDS:THE BEN CARSON STORY] I was so happy i did because i saw someone that did not have much of a chace at life but made good with what he had to work with and he did it with his mom pushing true believe into his head to make him believe in himself that there was nothing he could not do that others could do.it shows me that what i have done in my life is not great but if i believe with all my heart i can become the person i always wanted to be and to a light in someone eyes to see they can do it also .i am glad i got the movie and will look at it when i get down to see someone that was put down and how he delt with it and showed all around him and himself that it is not as bad as it may seem.

dear dr. carson, i just read the book 'gifted hands'. it has really blessed me and helped me a whole lot! i wish i could send you personal mails to be able to tell you a few problems i have. i'm about to finish high school and i have a very big decision to make. i've always wanted to be a paediatrician but i got scared and deciced to be a microbiologist instead. after reading gifted hands, i found out that if i think big, i'll be a successful paediatrician no matter what. thank you for writing such a book,, listening to your mum, and believing in God; you have set a perfect role model and mentor for me. God bless you a million times!

Hello to all, I feel bad because I just found out about this wonderful Dr. I didn't see the movie or had never heard about any books, until I meet a lady in a store. This sweet lady was drinking coffee and I was waiting for my daughter to finish her interview a job at the same place. We got on the subject of seizures and the story went on for a while I was telling her about my child having seizures, she asked me had I ever heard about Dr. Carson. I told her no, so she went into detail about all the great things he had done and all the awards he got It was so many good things I just couldn't believe all that I was hearing. So this made me look online to see and read more about Dr. Carson. I am hoping that someone will read this and post a comment about how I can reach him by email or phone. I would like to share my childs story with him and until I get an answer I'm going to order one of his books so I can get a little more information. Thanks For any Help!

The movie about Dr. Ben Carson, Gifted Hands, was inspirational in so many ways. This movie dispelled the "excuses" of those who choose to waste their lives by committing crime(s) or expecting success to fall into their laps without working hard. And to use the ridiculous excuse that "I'm not successful because I'm a product of my enviornment." Give that cop-out a rest! Dr. Carson is without question a role model (and his brother). I admire their Mother beyond words. She refused to allow her third grade education, prejudice, segregation, too much TV, and any other obstacle/excuses to deter/discourage her sons from becoming the best they could be. She instilled in her sons to focus on the positive and to know they had the ability and intellect to become successful if they applied themselves. All three are what role models really represent. I will be in attendance to hear Dr. Carson (and Take 6) speak at The Crystal Cathedral. May God continue to bless your remarkable family.

I watched the Gifted Hands movie, and it made me really think about what God can do with one's life...you've encouraged me to listen to where He's trying to lead me. I thought it was amazing how you have let God take the credit for your work too, I think I would really stumble in that area and want to give myself the glory.

I, too admire Dr.Carson and his wonderful testimony to God's love and grace and to his very wise mother and wife. I have no desire to meet any movie star or even the president, but I'd give my 'eye teeth' to meet Dr. Carson and his family. I have hunted in every way I know how to find a DVD of the movie that was on TNT, ( I'd like to share it with everyone I know) but so far have been unable to find it sold anywhere. If anyone knows where to buy one please write a blurb.

I recently watched the movie Gifted Hands and have to say that I was touched by Dr. Carson's story. It shows how important it is to have a good "Mama" who has the right values and mindset to help motivate a child to rise above anything! The movie also showed how Dr. Carson learned that his faith in God would help him cope with the racism he encountered throughout his life. Dr. Carson will be the subject of my son's next book report on Great African-Americans. God bless you Dr. Carson, your family and most of all -- your dedicated Mom.

Me and my children watched the Ben Carson story and were amazed. I cried at how his mother was such a beautiful influence to both her boys. I want to one day bring my children to the hospital to meet Ben Carson if possible. Ben Carson you represent the best in a man. May you always be blessed in life. I also salute your wife Candy behind all good men there is a great woman.

WTG for this great Lens about Ben Carson! We've been reading his autobiography in our after school program for a few years.

Now the kids at NAOC are reading it in Malawi, Africa. The documentary is very decent too. What a super role model and inspiration for today's children and all of us!

Thanks for your hard work on the Lens!
