The Benchmade Folding Knife is manufactured by The Benchmade Knife Company in Oregon City, OR. not far from Mount Hood. These are some of the most innovative knives being manufactured today. The following Benchmade Folding Knives are some of their most popular models.

Benchmade Griptilian

The Benchmade Folding Griptilian Knife comes in many different colors and styles, and they seem to be coming out with more all the time. It can actually be a little confusing, but that's ok because I'm here to help.

The best way to know if you and your buddy both have Griptilians is to look at the handle. The color of the handle can change but the style is always the same. The size of the knife may be different, the type of blade may be different, even the one-handed opening mechanism may be different. But the handle remains the same.

The Benchmade Griptilian comes in many different colors including the camo version pictured above, but it can also come with a different blade design. The standard version comes with a hollow ground modified sheepsfoot design and has a thumb hole for one-handed opening. There is also a modified drop-point blade version that comes with thumb-studs instead of the thumb-hole.

The final blade style (at the time I wrote this) is the Tanto blade design. Also, you can get all the knives with stainless steel or black blades. And to show what good guys Benchmade really are you can get a PINK Griptilian that they will donate part of the profit to Breast Cancer Research.

Update! I'm looking for a link to the Camo Griptilian at this time but haven't been able to find one. I'll keep checking.

Benchmade Warren Osborne BM940

This is without a doubt an expensive knife. But like most things in life you get what you pay for. I'm including this knife here because of a review I read about a guy that found one of these in the woods. Because he didn't actually have to shell out the money for it he uses it as his all-purpose knife cutting everything from steak to wood with it. He has really put this knife through it's paces and he loves it. I've read several other places that the edge on this knife stays sharp for a long time even with lots of use. If you're looking for a slim designed, perfectly balanced, extremely sharp knife then this could be just what you're looking for.

Benchmade VEX

The Benchmade VEX is an excellent folding knife. In fact it is probably one of the best built knives in Benchmade's Red Class line of knives. The biggest drawback to this knife for me personally is that it is made in China, actually I believe ALL the Red Class line is made in China. That being said, I've read excellent reviews on the quality of this knife.

It comes with two different blade styles. A plain blade which has a modified drop point style with a thumb-hole opener and a tanto blade, partially serrated with thumb-studs for quick opening. Both blades are made from 8Cr14 Stainless Steel and have a Black Pearl scratch resistant coating.

The handle is made from G10 material and has an ergonomic finger grooved reversible steel carry-clip.

You can buy the Benchmade Vex, Black G-10 Handle, BP Coated Plain Blade here.
