I haven't read this yet, but I want to.  As a British reader I can get a signed copy direct from Andrew Collins.  If that interests you, then please see Andrew's website, although there is a wait.Overseas readers, and anybody who doesn't want to wait, are probably best buying a copy from Amazon.

I'll post a review here once I have read it.

Andrew Collins Discusses Beneath the Pyramids

... & the Tomb of Birds

In this 20 minute lecture, Andrew Collins describes his discovery of a cave system beneath the Giza Plateau and pyramids. First discovered in in 1817 by the gentlemen Egyptologists Salt and Caviglia, the caves were then lost. They remain controversial and their existence has been firmly denied by Dr Zahi Hawass, Vice Minister of Culture, on his personal blog.

Photos of the Tomb of Birds

If you would prefer just to see some photos and read text, then Andrew Collins has a great page about the Tomb of Birds on his website, including some amazing photographs. There is another great blog about the Giza Plateau here which disagrees with Andrew Collins.

Ancient Egypt Old Kingdom

These are the latest posts on my blog about the Old Kingdom. Andrew Collins thinks that the Tomb of Birds might be associated with the New Kingdom, but Giza and the Great Pyramid are firmly associated with the Old Kingdom so that's how I prefer to categorise anything I write about the Tomb of Birds - at least for now.

Kate Phizackerley on Ancient Egypt

My main focus at Squidoo is writing lenses about Ancient Egypt. I started a blog on the hunt for tomb KV64 in the Valley of the Kings, and found I wanted to write more. I've added a blog on the Egyptian Old Kingdom which I mention below, and which covers the Tomb of Birds story, and my Valley of the Kings blog is now more general and updated most days.

Blogs are good for developing stories, but not good for covering matters in detail. For that I write Squidoo lenses. You can see my catalogue of lenses below, but I particularly recommend my lens about KV62, the Tomb of Tutankhamun, which as I write this is one of the top ten travels lenses on the whole of Squidoo.
