If you are wondering why people are so crazy about eating organic food you have come to the right place. Is it really worth the extra price?? Is there any difference?? I will do my best to answer these questions for you from my own experience. Stay Healthy and enjoy the benefits of organic eating.

The Benefits of Organic Eating

Well if you ask my buddy Joe he will give you a laundry list of things but he has had drastic health changes in his life from going organic. He actually lost 100 pounds over the course of 2 years which is what truly convinced him of the power of organic food. Now he is much healthier and when I met him I was introduced to the organic world.

Now I'm a college student so you can imagine I was reluctant at the thought of paying more for anything but my buddy paid for a lot of the food so why not I tried whatever. We would make power meals a couple nights a week that would have some sort of meat carbs and greens All organic and delicious. A typical meal would consist of maybe some (all organic) whole wheat pasta and sauce, free range chicken breast, piled on top of a plate of organic greens. Now I was blown away by how delicious these meals were and how great I felt afterwords.

So at this point I was started to be swayed towards trying more organic foods and the only thing holding me back was the price of everything. When you basically have zero income spending nearly double on some items is out of the question. So I began to delegate some things that were affordable and organic I would buy but other things that were too expensive I would go conventional. Regardless of how much money I have even to this day there are certain items I don't really care about being organic and others I would really prefer.

I try to buy organic produce from local places in my town. Fortunate for me I live in Oregon so getting local produce is very, very easy. I also have access to local free range organic chicken, eggs, and grass fed beef. These are the two areas the I am picky about but if you taste the local meat and produce around here you would understand where I am coming from.

After you eat a juicy grass fed fee range grass fed burger you just can't look at Carl's Jr. the same anymore You have food at some places that is real and other places with food that is fake, it becomes pretty black and white. Unfortunately everyone can't live in Oregon so the little utopia I speak of is probably hard for someone to create in a place like New York City especially on a budget. So far the benefits of organic for me were the food was really taste and left me feeling very pure in my mind and body. There were no apparent health benefits for me at this time but I was very healthy prior to eating organic so there wasn't too much for me to expect. It did notice some small physical changes as well from my normal training routine.

I workout regularly and around the same time that i discovered the benefits of organic eating I was working really hard to get my physique leaner. Running, sprinting and doing a lot of body weight exercise to get my abs to truly peak. And after about 2 weeks of eating really quality healthy food (mainly organic) I felt my body getting leaner at a quicker rate than I was used to. The new diet helped me peak and I was shredded but can I really be sure whether it was the organic food or just the healthy food.

I feel like was more the healthy food that gave me the results but I know the organic part didn't hurt me. Another factor is most of the healthy foods I like that will help you get and stay lean are organic and would be silly to get conventional because the price difference is so minimal. For example there is a brand of whole wheat organic pasta that I swear by and it goes for 9.99 a 10 pack at costco. So you are paying 99 cents for a package which is the same price if not cheaper than conventional white pasta that is complete crap for your body. Things like that I feel are a no-brainer but you will have to decide for yourself.

The List of Produce they say you should make sure is organic

    Organic and Free Range Meats

Are there health benfefits for eating organic meats???

This questions is very tough to answer because you have three different calibers of meat. Garbage meat from say Wal-mart supercenter. Quality meat that is raised local, humane, and with genetic modification, and organic meat that has all the qualities I just listed. I won't tell you that your meat has to be organic but I will tell you that factory farmed meat is something your probably wouldn't eat if you saw the life it went through. There is some seriously sick environment that these animals live in that would make you vomit if you were within 20 feet of but yet people still eat it.

I love meat and I feel it is a necessity for my body and the level of activity I maintain. When I am weight training I feel like my recovery time is greatly slowed if I do not have a serving or two of animal protein in my diet. Some people will argue this with me until they are about to have an aneurysm that I don't meat and I will tell them to go deadlift 400lbs and tell me your body isn't craving some meat to recover. Well with that said I am starting to sound like a meat head who loves meat. I guess that is what I am but I love humane meat that I know was raised right and my body is going to love it.

“Humanameatatarian or Humane-ameat-atarian someone who only eats Humane Meat”
