Here's the brains behind the store
Owned by Bernie is Bernies Antiques, which is an old style antique shop where items are super old and the store it's self dates back to the 40's. The building was once a Kaiser dealership, with big windows and a part that has garage doors for the mechanic shop. The floor is cement and still shows 1940's colors to add to the feel.
When buying Bernie makes sure to only accept items old enough to keep that certain look to his store. He will only take check or cash. He doesn't want to mess with the computer age.

What is That?
These 2 silver things?? 3 inches long, metal with measurments and a slot at the top, there is a push up piece on the bottom.
This item below is for adusting dentures.

A frame curve making plane. You put in different shaped blades to scrape out the formation of framework.

Old toys and First 3D Veiwer
A couple of train sets are sitting on a bench, and there is a pile of track and bits next to a nice standard guage Lionel gondola.
Above the records and woodworking planes is more old battery operated toys, tin cars and a paper castle.

Here's an amazing gadget, sort of like a view finder but you see the photo in 3D. Special photo boards go with it. On each board is the same photo twice, but slightly different, so when you set in in place on the viewer and look thru, it looks 3D. Kids love it.

Guy Stuff!
It's nice to see guys getting back into woodworking with hand tools. Bernie's is a great place for hobbies and collections. People can poke around in here for hours pondering what they could use for this or that.
There is a nice selection of knifes, reels, poles and plug lures to poke thru. Lots of garage décor such as tin signs, oil cans, motor bits and car emblems.

Lot's of vintage art on the walls.
Gal's Stuff!
Nice Funiture too.
It's a great place to find an odd type of dishware, iron frying pan or oil lamp.
Bernie loves to get in Roseville and old dolls.
There is a big selection of tea cups, salt & pepper shakers and figurines.
A pile of newer jewelry is kept under a table that is great to dig thru for crafts and scrap booking. Make a pile and Bernie will give you a deal.

Cool Old Furniture
Wood furniture can look great in some motifs. Much of Bernie's furniture is dark wood to medium light wood. Rocking chairs, pantries, old school desks, table sets, and some that only Bernie know what they are for. The roll top desks are in and out of here in a flash.
There are also accessories to go with them, like mirrors and iron bed sets. Things to set on top like old radios and mantle clocks.

Movie Props
A few times a year a film or movie crew will come in and get some items they need to make their projects look real to a time or place.
Bernie has some 1930's clothes, old lanterns and so much more that assists the movie faster than if they try to make it.
Even prop builders can find odd bits to make something unusual.

Old Photos and Postcards
These are Bernie's favorite items.
The photos date back to the 1800's of people, military, animals, trains and more. The 1930's photos are so cool because of the hair styles and dress.
Who knows really why the old photos end up away from their families. Perhaps the whole family died out. Perhaps the newer generation just doesn't care, or maybe someone bought an old house and found the photos left in an attic.
Label your photos!
The one thing I can tell you for sure is that none of these photos have anything written on them. How is anyone to know who these people are several generations later. Unless there is an obvious genetic resemblance, there's not any way of knowing if the matriarch has died with out having someone take notes on who is who.
You may not think it to be necessary to label your photos, but let this place be an example of why to do so. Get them put on paper as well. 3 generations from now they probably wont know what a DVD player is.

Old postcards
Bernie has a great selection of very old postcards.
People enjoy finding postcards of the city they grew up in or favorite travel place. It's possible that a postcard of what your home town used to look like is here.
There are also some Victorian Postcards for holidays.

Written Directions to Bernie's
Coming from Seattle it's easiest to get on Lake City Way and go North. Fallow the road all the way thru Lake City, it then turns in an area called Kenmore. There's a Kid Valley which has great hamburgers over on the left. Keep going thru Kenmore, then there is another turn in the road at an intersection with a gas station. After you get thru that prepare to get in the turn lane. Just after some apartments you can see Bernie's over on the Left, a light blue building. Get in what is left of the turn lane and hope for an opening.
Quickly pull into his dirt parking lot and visit Bernie.
