Do you think old songs were much better and meaningful than modern songs?

Yes
nyclittleitaly says:
Absolutely, this is some of the best music ever. I did a few lenses on this music. I love your picks. Thank you for a great lens.
emmakeynes says:
Of course! I hate modern songs.
Lemming13 says:
Depends on the singer and the song, of course - but certainly more original, tuneful and innocent.
MrAverageGuy says:
Oh Boy, this is one of the best sites I have seen on squidoo. Most of my life's music in one place and I wasn't even born until the sixties. Some rock 'n' roll classics have been covered many times. Check out lens Rip It Up and you'll see what I mean. great job here.
Jerryjg62 says:
Not even close.
There is a website that plays radio airchecks from WABC a station in New York from the mid 60's and 70's where they play Coca-Cola commercial jingles that were sung by the likes of Roy Orbison. Those jingles sounded better then anything played today and they were commercials!
I'm 48 yrs old but have always been a fan of 50's and 60's music.
And as far as being more meaningful there is nothing meaningful about cursing and talking about doing this or that to some girl like they do today.
Songs back them had simple meanings but they talked to the heart. Now there is only mindless, offensive junk.
