Toddlers Soak Up Everything! Let's Give them the Best

Toddlers are amazing little people. They don't seem to miss a trick. They are happy and eager to progress and love learning new things.

I have a blast reviewing apps for toddlers and watching my grandson (official tester) work with them. He thrives on the educational apps that we have found for him.

Great Toddler Gift Ideas

The holidays are coming up soon. This year will be a different shopping season for many. Many families already have iPad and that will make things a lot easier. If you don't have one I really do recommend considering it as it has turned out to be an amazing gift. Once you purchase the iPad, the cost of gifts for our kids goes down in a big way.

One example is a box of flashcards at about $3. They usually cover one topic and tend to wear out. Compare that to a flashcard app that covers four areas in nine different languages at $1.99. There is a review on many of these on my website. We can easily go on to compare the price of books, games, movies and more and get the same results, only in the app version they don't fill a room.

We gave one to my grandson when he was two and for over a year now, not a day goes by that he does not use it. A night doesn't go by that it doesn't go to bed with him for a bedtime story. I am tickled when I spend $2 on a book app and he treasures it like a $30 hardcover, only this one is easily stored and won't wear out. Now that is a bargain.

I spent a great deal of time choosing the apps for him. I loaded it with great basic educational apps, that seem more like games to him. The book apps are a fantastic gift that reinforce social skills and reading readiness. I am still finding great apps in so many areas of life enhancement. Music apps that introduce instruments the child may never see otherwise. Cooking apps that create quality time with parents and an opportunity to let the imagination roam. I recently review an app that introduced kids to yoga.

You can find educational apps in most any category in the app store. The talents of the developers continue to expand. I see book apps taken to a whole new level with 3D and the ability to scroll a room. Other book apps are taking classics and making them interactive and educational in so many ways.

Gifting my grandson with the iPad led to the development of my website. I saw that it was very time consuming to find the best apps and decided to create a site that helps parents and caregivers when they are considering apps. There are several things to look out for when you are focused on educational, quality apps. We do that and then video the app in action to show the parents exactly what we saw and heard.

I see the iPad as an investment in a child. A toolbox to hold their tools for life.
