Who makes the best baby carriers?
I have tried a variety of baby carriers and there are three that I recommend for quality and usability. If you ask me, the best baby carriers are the Moby wrap, the Ergo baby carrier, and the Maya Wrap.

Why I like the Moby Wrap
The Moby Wrap
is a long stretchy piece of fabric. Its simple construction is part of why I like it. There are no buttons, rings, straps, or clips. You just have to learn how to wrap it around your body. It is extremely versatile and can be used for children from newborn to toddler-age. This wrap can be used for discrete nursing as well.

Why I like the Ergo Baby Carrier
I love the Ergo Baby Carrier
because it makes carrying a large child easier. Other types of carriers are not as good at distributing the weight of a large child and can become uncomfortable quickly.
The Ergo can also be used with infants if you purchase the infant insert. I can't say how well this works because my son was already too big to use the insert by the time I bought it. Personally, I think a ring sling like the Maya Wrap or and Wrap like the Moby are better suited for small babies.

Why I like the Maya Wrap
The Maya Wrap
is a ring sling baby carrier. I like the Maya because it is very light, portable, and great for hands-free and discrete nursing. There are a number of positions you can use for babies of varying sizes. One disadvantage the Maya Wrap has that the other two carriers don't is that the weight of the child is not equally distributed across your back. Because of this holding a heavier child will probably be uncomfortable.

Ellaroo
I haven't tried the Ellaroo carrier personally, but I like the way they look

- You've got some great choices here! My favorite is the Ergo. But I've seen many women using the wraps too. Good job on your lens!

- I just bought a Moby wrap for my nine-month-old granddaughter, and it is a godsend. She loves it as much as I do. My daughter has a European-made wrap that is quite similar, and also uses the Ergo. Well-done lens. Thank you for making this information so accessible, as well as interesting.
