If you want to encourage the new reader in your life then give them the gift of books this holiday season. There are some wonderful fun reads out there that will encourage and excite new readers. Reading can be a wonderful adventure or dreadful drudgery. If you choose the right books then your beginning reader will find reading nothing but fun!

Someone recently asked me for recommendations for the beginning reader in their life which started me on this trip down memory lane.

Any beginning reader's library must include Dr. Seuss

There are many many wonderful Dr. Seuss titles that are great for beginning readers and as your reader develops you will want to add to your collection. I suggest looking into sets and collections as there is a lot of Seuss! This set includes some of our favorites:
