Here is a list of the best Christian rock album releases in 2011. And believe me there are a lot of them. The Crusaders were among the first Christian bands that became famous in the late 60's. Their 1966 Tower Records album Make a Joyful Noise with Drums and Guitars was a huge success and still considered to this day as one of the best gospel rock releases. Larry Norman, who recorded upon this rock is one of the leading musicians in this genre. He still have a big cult fan base, including people from this generation, as well as older fans. Bruce Cockburn and Phil Keaggy are among the musicians who achieved a cross-over success, reaching audiences who listen to secular music. Today, some of the most successful Christian bands are Stryper, Underoath, Skillet and Decyfer Down. Let's look at some of the newest releases of this year now.

I love Christian rock, but I must be out of the loop as I've never heard of these bands except U2 and I would have never thought they were a Christian group. I guess I've got some listening to do.

I love Christian Rock though I am more of a Addison Road or Casting Crowns type of person.
