Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas!

I have liked Christmas music for as long as I can remember.  I have many many Christmas albums, and many favorites also.  Each year I say I don't need to buy anymore, but I always seem to get a new one.  I thought I'd share some of what the season means to me, by sharing some of my favorite Christmas music with you.  So, pour yourself some eggnog, sit back and take a listen with me.

The Carpenter's - Christmas Portrait: Special Edition

This album will blow you away from start to finish. The beautiful "Overture" with parts from eight favorites is marvelous, and the Carpenter's own
award winning "Merry Christmas Darling" is now a Christmas standard. The seventeen tunes on this albums could not be more perfect. The sound is untouchable - give it a listen and see if you agree with me, and if this becomes one of your favorites also.

Jimmy Buffett - Christmas Island

You might think that I love this Christmas album simply because I am a parrothead. That is only partly true. I bought it initially because I am a parrothead -- but I play it over and over every Christmas season because it is really a great album. You will hear some standards here, but most of the ten songs are ones you might not know. And, all are done with distinctive island flair. "Merry Christmas, Alabama" will soon be one of your favorites too - give it a try.

Kenny Chesney - All I Want For Christmas Is A Real Good Tan

This album quickly became a favorite of mine. In addition to the title track ("All I Want For Christmas Is A Real Good Tan"), Chesney includes favorites such as "I'll Be Home For Christmas", "Thank God For Kids", "Silver Bells" and seven other great songs. If you like Christmas music, you will want this one in your collection, and if you're a Kenny Chesney fan - you might not stop playing it.

Dolly Parton - Home For Christmas

Dolly Parton's beautiful voice singing classic Christmas tunes is a part of the holidays for me. This album will not disappoint you, and you do not have to be a country music fan or a Dolly Parton fan to love it. Give a listen!

Christmas With Willie Nelson

Yes, "that" Willie Nelson. Don't scoff until you give this one a try. No one else anywhere does "Pretty Paper" any better. Plus you get "The First Noel", "Silent Night", "O Little Town Of Bethlehem", and six other great hits. His voice is perfect for the carols, and the arrangements are super.

A Classic Cartoon Christmas

(from Nick At Nite Records)

It is physically impossible to listen to this album and not smile...a lot! They've pulled together songs from "Frosty", "How The Grinch Stole Christmas", "A Muppet Family Christmas", "A Charlie Brown Christmas", and many more.
