Crucial Memory Is The Best Computer Memory Ever

Ranked #14,168 in Computers & Electronics, #291,366 overall

Crucial Technology is part of the hugely successful Micron Technology group which is one of the largest memory manufacturers in the world.

Many people will only think of or be familiar with computer memory but ram memory has been produced by micron for nearly thirty years and is found in many of the electronic devices around the world from printers to wireless devices.

In 1996 Micron launched Crucial Technologies to deliver high quality memory to the end user computer market which was beginning to demand the best possible performance from their computer systems and due to the outstanding quality of their product and excellent customer focus they have never looked back.

Quality Quality Quality

One of the key factors that sets Crucial Memory ahead of most of its competitors is the exceptional high quality of their products.

Micron takes the time to test 100% percent of its products and in many years of being involved with high end mission critical computer workstations (high end Pc's) I have never known Crucial memory to fail so I think they deserve their mantle as a top tier memory supplier.

But I'm not the only one. Crucial memory has won countless awards over the years from leading independent computer publications and press.

These are the guys that really know their stuff!

Is All Memory The Same?

But all memory is the same right?.......Wrong!

One of the biggest mistakes a purchaser can make is thinking that all memory is the same. And because of this many consumers often purchase ram based on price blissfully unaware of why one module should be dearer than the other.

As the saying goes (credit here to the Pretty Woman film) big mistake.......Huge.

Whilst Crucial will test all their modules to ensure they meet stringent performance standards many manufactures will only test a percentage sample of a batch. A lot of memory that fails these top tier tests is then passed out to be sold as generic memory (I prefer to call this take your chance memory) which will be sold cheaper.

Now if you have ever had a Pc that has gone wrong with faulty memory you will know that it will cost you a small fortune to try and chase an invisible memory related fault. I have friends who have paid literally hundreds to computer repair technicians to track down the problem with a constantly crashing computer to no avail, when the problem has subsequently been solved by replcing the memory.

I think the message here is you get what you pay for,and given that Crucials memory is generally only a few bucks more than generic memory it is just not worth taking the risk in my opinion.

Fixing A Slow Computer

Is Your Computer Running Dog Slow?

One of my pet gripes must be directed towards the system builders that offer budget machines to the unsuspecting public.

Quite often one of the areas they use to bring the price down is to give the computer barely sufficient memory to make it perform efficiently. So when an unsuspecting member of the public comes along they tend to focus on price blissfully unaware of the importance of memory and end up with a throttled down machine.

It's a bit like buying a sports car that has been restricted to 50 miles per hour....It starts of great but then hits a brick wall as far as performance is concerned.

How Important Is Computer Memory?

Your laptop or desktop memory is very important. It is how the computer runs and how the software runs. It is certainly more than just being able to save a document you are typing or being able to download a song.

The memory computer systems need is centered around how fast it can run and how quickly data can be loaded. A computer's memory is the amount of storage on a computer. Taking for example generic memory, when a computer stores information in its temporary memory it is able to run much faster.

In a majority of cases more computer memory will mean a faster computer

If you are not comfortable fitting your own memory you could always ask a friendly IT Support technician to do it for you.

Backup Your Data

When was the last time you backed up yours? Good IT protocol dictates that you should always back up your data on a regular basis. Its always a good idea as well before any system maintenance.

So what do you do if you don't have a back up system? No problem, as long as you have an internet connection you can do a remote backup to a safe server on the web, far better than running the risk of losing all your photo's or music for example.
