My wife and I take turns cooking dinner and over the years I have had the opportunity to try out a number of different brands of cookware. Most of them performed really well and a few of them I feel failed miserably. I stay away from cookware featuring designer names from popular TV cooking shows and chefs. I found them expensive and way over rated. I prefer American made cookware from manufacturers that have been around a while and have stood the test of time.

A well made set of cookware will last a lifetime with proper care. I still use a small set of cast iron cookware that was produced by Griswold and Wagner many years ago. Below are a few of my favorite top picks in cookware if I was just starting out today.
