    Hi Dr. Darrell,

I have a few questions. I started hanging out with someone I knew briefly when I was 12 years old. He walked me home one day and never forgot about me after more than 20 years. We starting spending time together and one night he planted a kiss on me and since then we have been dating. It's been almost 2 months and he talks about how much he wants to get married and have children. He refers to me as "his girl" to his friends and in the first few weeks he was showing all of his friends my picture and telling them about the great time he is having with me. I am having a problem with things that he says to me regarding what we are to eachother. He has told me that he is very unhappy in his career and cannot see himself settling down and couldn't imagine even having a girlfriend until he got a better job... that is until he met me. He is sending me mixed messages and I am starting to get worried that this might all be a waste of time. How can I tell what this guy intend

Does he reserve at least one weekend night for you? If he is busy all weekend, every weekend, and can only see you during the week, i would dump him. If you are important to him he will make a weekend date available to you. If he is interested he will also set up dates a couple days in advance.

    OK Dr. Darrell,

I just met the most amazing guy. He looks great on paper -- good job, drives a nice car, owns a condo, etc. However, he calls me if he wants a date that night. He never seems to plan ahead. He says his work is difficult, and he's too busy. What do you think? Is he worth it?
