Do you know how many prescription products are irritating and uncomfortable? This deodorant right here lacks that irritation and discomfort. It is a refreshing, clean scent and most of all, it is dermatologist tested. This is a good choice if you would like to smell fresh all day long.

Mitchum for women

This is accounted as one of the most long-lasting deodorants there are in the market right now. In the ads they even say you can afford yourself to miss a day, and it's true. It keeps bad odor away, and even though it doesn't smell "great" it does define you as fresh and clean for a long period of time (in the excess of 24h).

Are Deodorants Toxic?

The bottom line is yes and no

Many of you are wondering if deodorants are toxic. This is a question that comes up from time to time and unfortunately, yes they are. However, there are some products on the market that are not as toxic as others.

Aluminum is something that you will find in a deodorant. As you may know, aluminum is a common skin irritant. Apart from being a skin irritant, it is also a poisonous neurotoxin. Even more bad news, research has linked aluminum to Alzheimer's disease. When they studied the brains of those with this disease, they found an abnormal accumulation of aluminum. When scientists inject aluminum into lab animals, their brains develop a neurological disease that is similar to Alzheimers.

Parabens are also found in deodorants and research has concluded that parabens are harmful to an individual's health. For example, the use of parabens will increase the risk of breast cancer as it mimicks estrogen. Why do they use parabens in a product that you will be applying to your skin? They use them in order to preserve cosmetics, food and pharmaceutical products. There are various products that do not contain parabens as research has found that parabens are really not needed in order to preserve a product.

TEA and DEA are hormone disruptors. Unfortunately, they are cancer causing chemicals. TEA may cause contact dermatitis.

Are deodorants toxic? The answer to that is "yes" and "no." For example, if the deodorant does not contain ingredients such as aluminum, parabens, TEA and DEA, then they are not toxic. They are only toxic if they contain toxic ingredients. There is a large variety of organic deodorants on the market that you can use. Despite it all, as long as you do not apply it all the time, it should not be toxic to your health. Whether you use the products or not is fully up to you.

The debate

Would you use deodorant?

Now, after reading about toxicity, will you continue using deodorant?

Yes, I would.

saada says:

yes

Nope, I would revert to my natural odor.
