My favorite rolls are Pilsbury crescent rolls. They are easy to make and so tasty. A great choice for those who don't do homemade well. Nice lens.

I do very few cooking lenses but do have one on cloverleaf yeast rolls. I just learned something from yours. I never considered the bread machine, what a great idea. Thanksgiving and Christmas were never complete without the rolls and I have gotten lazy so your helpful hints will change the holidays going forward. Angel blessed!!!

I never realized how many different types of shapes we could do. I'm definitely trying this next week when the hubby gets back. Who knows maybe I can impress him...I'm known for burning water.

I could almost smell the lovely aroma of those rolls ~ loved the community napkin story! **Blessed by a Squid-Angel**
  • Swisstoons Oct 16, 2010 @ 2:38 pm | delete
Your mom sounds like a wonderful person. That story of her "community napkin" will be one passed down through coming generations, I'm guessing, as it seems to symbolize what Thanksgiving is all about; giving thanks, for sure...but also gathering together with the extended family. Great lens! Thumbs up!

Great lens. I have a Panasonic bread maker and one night while it was going my cat knocked it to the floor and broke the lid off. I rushed out and bought a new one only to find the old one still worked. Great lens 5* and fave

I remember helping to knead the dough to make dinner rolls for Thanksgiving with my Mom and Grandmother. I can smell them baking as I read this lens. I think I will make some for Christmas Dinner this year. Thank you for the delicious memories.

My dad's aunt used to bake fresh bread, rolls, and sweets every Saturday morning. She even had a small business from baking and selling from her tiny home. I spent many of my childhood holidays at her house filled with the smell of fresh baked bread. Your recipe reminds me so much of her. I don't know if this was a similar recipe or not, but I sure want to try to make some. :D Thanks for putting a sweet memory in my mind.
