The Catahoula is the best dog ever. They're smart, loyal, and they like kids. However, these dogs aren't for everyone - they do best on farms and other places where they can have lots of fun.
My 3rd Catahoula

In this picture, you see my 3rd Catahoula and here name is Patch. She's only 1 1/2 years old. My first Catahoula was named Blue and she was the best dog ever.Blue was such a great dog, I vowed that I would always own a Catahoula. After we lost Blue at age 12, we found the perfect Catahoula puppy and named her Star. She was the most athletic dog I have ever seen. She could keep up with a guinea running on the ground. Unfortunately, when it came time to have her "fixed" - she died on the operating table. It makes me sad to think about it today. But sometimes those things just "happen".
Anyway, after the untimely loss of Star, we were able to acquire one of her half sisters. And that brings us up to date. Patch is a wonderful dog, although she's still in the "puppy stage".

Catahoula Puppies - Update - November 19th, 2009.
Catahoula puppies from Patch.
Yep, my Catahoula named Patch (pictured above), has had some puppies (10 of them). These are only 1/2 Catahoula and I'm not quite sure what the father dog is. This was sort of an accident as I was hoping to breed Patch to another NALC registered Catahoula, but not this time. What the web says about Catahoulas
