Definitely, Rogers/Parton "Islands In The Stream." ... Likely, Cocker/Warnes "Love Lifts Us Up Where We Belong." ... For 2011, "Body and Soul," Bennett/Winehouse.
  • Todayhaspower Nov 29, 2011 @ 9:20 pm | delete
Islands in the Stream by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton is classic. Also, Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer is good. Those are in the Country Music arena. I still find myself singing that Sonny and Cher whenever it comes on.

Great list, although I only like 3 of these personally. Loved Sonny and Cher, they had some great number back in the 60's. Do all male duets count? Rainy Night In Georgia by Conway Twitty and Sam Moore was a classic. The way they work together on the video says it all. Excellent job, blessed.

WOW- grabs box of tissue. You must have taken a lot of time to choose these songs- it's great to see the videos. My favorite is "Don't Give Up" but Billy Preston is a close second- so sentimental.

Great list. Thanks for sharing and for providing the videos for all but Peter Gabriel's song. I suggest at least putting a #4 next to Gabriel's album in the list of videos because I couldn't tell that was #4 until I scrolled further down in the lens. Great job though.

Sometimes YouTube videos get embedding disabled overnight. This is what happened with this song. It happened many times before with other videos. I have now replaced it with another version for which the video embed code is working (so far). Thanks for letting me know.

I think of The Righteous Brothers first ... and then there is that duet about "may you dance" with two women singing.
  • Lorymer Dec 26, 2010 @ 11:05 am | delete
Thanks for stopping by and for your suggestions. This lens is exclusively featuring male / female duets, but if and when I will create a male / male duets lens, I will definitely consider The Righteous Brothers; they were the best and a hit like Lost That Loving Feeling would definitely be part of a Top 10 list.

Preston & Syreeta get my vote because I feel they are the most genuine. In contrast, the others seem "manufactured" although excitingly so. (Of course you did not ask for reviews...) This lens is a lot of fun!
