It may surprise you to know, Brenda, that up until about a fortnight ago, I had never heard of Sloppy Joes. I heard them mentioned on a TV programme, deemed to find out what they are and promptly forgot about them again until a couple of days ago. I am actually typing this as my own take on Sloppy Joe mix is cooking and I wish I had found this lens an hour earlier. Fabulous production and I will most definitely take your suggestions in to account whenever I next have a go at Sloppy Joes.

I used to fix Sloppy Joes for my kids a lot and they loved them. In a pinch, you can just make them by adding ketchup and a little mustard to scrambled hamburger. I like the idea of using spagetti sauce...think I'll try it. :)
  • bames24 May 9, 2011 @ 11:41 pm | delete
I definitely will try it out... I am a vegetarian so I guess I will modify the recipe somewhat but I am sure it will be great :)

I've never heard of sloppy Joes before, but that's because I'm English! I don't fancy it with rolls or buns, but it sounds good to eat with lots of other things like baked potato, pasta, wraps or tortilla shells.

Interesting lens - I am still at the learning-and-copying-other-people stage.

    Hi Brenda,

Question so what is the main difference between a sloppy joe and a maid rite? I have seen them in small town mom and pops restaurants on the menu and they seem to me as the same thing.

    Thanks
