For those of you who have not heard of a the concept of a 'powerball' before I am very happy to be able to introduce you to it because they really are pretty amazing. A powerball is virtually a complete home hym that fits into the palm of your hand. They use something called 'gyroscopic force', which means there is a small weight inside them which spins around quickly, making it feel as though you are actually holding a heavy weight when they are switched on.

These things are obviously great for forearm and wrist strength, but also because of this dynamic movement you get a good all over workout when using them to exercise because they bring all of the smaller stabilizing muscles into play, and instead oif having a complete set of weights or home gym equipment, you only need one or two little balls.

The Iron Force 2 is not the cheapest you can get (see below for bargain powerballs), but I think that it is the best. You get up to 55 pounds of dynmaic resistance, heavy duty metal casing, and just to top it off it looks really cool too!

The Fitbit is basically a pedometer with calorie function, but it is very well done and makes an excellent tool for anyone who is exercising to lose weight. Keep it on you at all times, even during the night, and it will tell you exactly how many calories you have burned. You can then go online to their website and put in exactly what you have eaten, and find out whether your are burning more calories that you are taking in and if so how many.
