Matching Pajamas on Christmas Eve
I remember fondly my family's tradition: each Christmas Eve, we'd open up one gift a piece--this gift was chosen by my mother. Of course, she'd always choose--you guessed it--the box containing the family Christmas pajamas. They'd already be laundered and ready to go, so all we had to do was tear the wrapping paper off the box and put them on.
We would spend the rest of the night watching Christmas movies and sip hot chocolate, all cuddled up in our matching PJs. The next morning, we'd all come downstairs in our pajamas to enjoy the rest of Christmas morning's festivities. Then, we'd take our annual "matching pajama" family photo. I still love looking through albums at each passing year of us in our pajamas. Luckily, the styles today are a bit more fashionable than what we had to wear when this tradition started back in 1983!
