Battlefield is a series of first person shooters produced by the company Electronic Arts. It plays strong emphasis on teamwork as well as strong vehicle use.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 received excellent reviews such as a 9.5 out of 10, but similiar to the Modern Warfare series, where the sequel is around the corner, why buy Bad Company 2?

Fallout is a series of first person shooter RPGs produced by Bethesda who is well known for their creation of several great RPGs. Falllout New Vegas is no exception. Fallout New Vegas is the sequel to the game of the year Fallout 3. In the game you play as a mutant in what was previously Las Vegas but is now called New Vegas after a nuclear war took place. Although it is rather complicated to explain, the goal is as in most first person shooters is to kill enemies. With over 2x the weapons in Fallout 3 and with the assistance of a V.A.T.S (tool which let's you pause combat and target specific parts of the body) you can easily decimate enemies. As you progress you can upgrade your characters with certain skills, and traits while also improving your gun with attachments such as extra mags and sights. Reputation is also important in the game, as NPCs of different factions like or dislike you based on the choices you make throughout the game.

Counter-Strike: Source is the latest installation in the classic Counter-Strike series, and is currently one of the most highly played first person shooters on the PC today.

Counter-Strike: Source pits two teams against each other (a terrorist group against a group counter-terrorists) in a battle. The goal of the game is to win more rounds than your opponents by fulfilling the maps's objective whether it be rescuing hostages, defusing a bomb, or simply killing the other team.

Counterstrike: Source is game that as not as new player friendly in comparison to other first person shooters in the fact that each round provides a player only a single life. This means if you die you stay dead for the remainder of the round (though rounds are not normally short). Also walking / running as the same time as running will increase bullet spread drastically.

Counter-Strike:Source features a large variety of weapons for each term's arsenal. For starters you can choose one of the 6 starting rifles AK47 and FAMAS all of which are extremely versatile and pack a huge punch. If you want more speed try out the sub machine guns such as the UMP or P90, which offer great fire at close range combat. If you are engaged in close combat frequently you also might want to try using the full auto shotgun, or even knifing your opponents. At long range maps you definitively want to try out one of the game's sniper rifles, which are absolutely deadly when used properly. Along with your primary weapon you get a secondary pistol such as the Dessert Eagle or the Glock 18. Smoke grenades are also at your disposal as well as explosive grenades and flashbangs.

Amazing sound, graphics, and AI with a great story combine perfectly and result in amazing game of both combat and puzzles.

Team Fortress 2 is also a first person shooter designed by Valve in the Orange Box collection. However while Half Life -2 is mainly a singleplayer game, Team Fortress 2 is all about multiplayer. In it you play as a 9 extremely diverse classes in a variety of game modes. Teamwork is essential in this game as each class has certain strengths and weaknesses. Team Fortress 2 has been praised widely for its game balance, as well as the unique classes.

Border lands is a game considered a role playing shooter and was produced by Gearbox Software. After your selection of the character that fits your play style ( sniper, close range gunner, explosive specialist, and soldier) you are thrust into a world of epic quests and deadly enemies.

Weapons are a huge part of this game (as in any other shooter) and with 17,750,000 different varieties of weapons including pistols, shotguns, snipers, combat rifles, rocket launchers, and sub machine guns which can also be equipped with special elemental powers. The skill trees also play a pretty large role in the games and as you progress you can carry more guns, add more shields, and equip stronger grenades.

While the single player's plot is great and combat is fantastic, what makes this game even better is the fact that you can play with your friends online or through lan if you are stuck on a particular boss. You can also do duels with any other Borderlands players whether it be a 1v1, 2v2, or 3v1.

Bioshock 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed original BioShock published by 2k Games. Bioshock 2 is considered to be a sci-fi first person shooter.

In Bioshock 2 you play as a "Big Daddy" which is basically a human inside a huge diving suit in Rapture, an underwater city full of dangers. Inhabitants of Rapture are known as Splicers and are insane and desire nothing better than to kill you. You survive using a huge drill gun as well as injecting yourself with genetically altering chemicals (plasmids) which grant you unique abilities such as telekinesis and control over electricity, as well as using creative strategies to defeat based on the environment and enemy weaknesses.

Plasmids are obtained by defeating other Big Daddies and harvesting ADAM from Little Sisters. How you harvest ADAM whether by killing Big Sisters or adopting them plays a role in the storyline of BioShock which is both complex and entertaining.
