Are the Best Food Recipes in the World on Squidoo?

Hi, I'm Mulberry and I'm addicted to Squidoo. Unfortunately that also means I sit...a lot. In addition, it means I'm exposed to repeated attacks from fellow Squidoo lensmasters who have conspired against me. These same people who profess to be my online "friends" are bombarding me with the best food recipes you can imagine.

I've had enough, I'm speaking out. My weight from the time of my high school graduation, through college and beyond for more than 25 years never really varied. Now, since joining Squidoo I've gained a few pounds. And, they aren't pretty.

I can love myself in any form but I refuse to become a statistic. Read on to see what I'm facing and what I plan to do about it!

So, How Did Squidoo Make Me Fat?

First you have to understand that inherent in an addiction to Squidoo, or any form of internet business, is the amount of time spent sitting on your backside. The evil in this is, what's NOT happening. Activity. Yep, no activity means lower metabolic rate which translated means all those calories are converted into... that's right, body fat.

Lack of activity is only one factor that can cause weight gain. As I indicated above if you browse Squidoo for long, you're going to encounter some of the best food recipes you've ever found and yes, consuming more food than what you're expending has such results.

What I'm Going To Do About It

First, I'm going to reserve time each day for activities I love which keep me fit. (At least until recently when I began to confuse my backside with the chair seat!) I'm pushing myself away from my desk.

Secondly, I am charging certain lensmasters with purposely conspiring to make me fat. I'm accusing them of offering the best food recipes which cannot be resisted. Furthermore, I assert that they colluded in the effort to overtake my good senses in regards to eating only dry, tasteless foods in order to avoid too much pleasure or weight gain. I will now attempt to present the evidence that I'm sure will support my case.

Warning!

View the following at your own risk. I have determined that many of these represent the best food recipes on the internet. Extreme gustatory pleasure and possible weight gain is possible if overindulgence isn't avoided. Proceed with care.

At First Casual Exposure to the Best Food Recipes Seemed Innocent Enough

As I began exploring Squidoo, I started noticing some tasty things to do with some of my favorite produce. I thought, hey, this is great way of discovering more fun ways to eat the things I love!

Through Squidoo, I found all kinds of new and interesting things to do with broccoli, spinach, strawberries, carrots, and much more. I had found some of the best food recipes I've ever experienced. As "exhibit A" in my case against Squidoo lensmasters however, I present to you a few selected lenses to aquaint you with the subtle torture I've endured.

Later I Noticed Some Great Recipes for Main Dishes Too!

After a few months on Squidoo I found I was no longer searching the web and finding recipes that who-knows-who put up; possibly posted with errors. No, now I was getting recipes done by people who cater, chefs, and other culinary experts. These were truly the best food recipes out there.

Many of them gave step-by-step instructions and beautiful photographs to help me out in the kitchen. There are so many out there but here are just a few to demonstrate what I'm talking about; they're also part the evidence I'm presenting for your consideration.

Then Warm Weather Came Along with a Whole New Batch of the Best Food Recipes

Ah, how could I resist these outdoor specialities? I was overwhelmed with some of the best food recipes for grilling, barbequing, picnicking, and tailgating. Even as I was reveling in these new found treasures I knew that these lensmasters were only plotting for the next step.

Here are a couple just so that you can glimpse what it is I faced each day on Squidoo.

And My Sense of Adventure Kicked In

I love to experiment with foods I've never tried, some of the best food recipes I've ever used had their roots in other lands. I was in heaven when I started noticing how Squidoo experts published recipes from their various homelands or family recipes which reflected their ethnic background.

As "exhibit D" in my case against Squidoo lensmasters, check these out and make special note of the variety and authenticity. I assure you that much of my enjoyment was under duress and not of my own free will.

Later I Needed Those Hearty Dishes

As the months progressed, my Squidoo addiction worsened. I began to realize how calculated the effort had been. I now longed for those hearty meals that would sustain me for long hours at my desk. I had no difficulty of course finding the best food recipes that could give me the endurance I needed.

They knew my weakness and capitalized on it. Below are just a few of the dishes to which I succumbed.

Finally There Were Sweets! Have They No Shame?

Even at this late date I might have been saved. If I could have turned from my computer monitor, run out the door and returned to eating the same bland, tired meals I was accustomed to having for so long. But just as my awareness of a increasingly unbalanced existence emerged...the sweets came and did the dirty work.

The combination of my Squidoo addiction and my discovery of the best food recipes on the web had taken over completely. Below is my closing argument against the lensmasters of Squidoo who have worked toward my undoing.

NAIZA says:

Oh, gosh! They're all so yummy! How I wish it is touchable right now.. I'm starving! :)

OhMe says:

Well, viewing the recipes just makes me hungry but doesn't give me the desire to cook. Thank goodness.

rms says:

:) I think it's the recipes! And thanks!

nightbear says:

They are shameless and heartless. Constantly attacking our senses with beautiful food pictures and delectable recipes. GUILTY!

Evelyn_Saenz says:

I was sitting here quietly Squidooing and your lens caught my attention. Now instead of taking a walk I am contemplating the Lemon Meringue Pie Recipe right above here or one of Chef Keem's incredible concoctions.

In order to save my health I am just going to have to go back to the Education section and concentrate on adjectives and verbs and hope that they are not describing and stirring up any food.

WendyKrick says:

I admit it. I'm guilty!

debnet says:

Guilty as charged m'lord ;)

Mayflowerblood says:

oh yes indeed! =]

Pastiche says:

Guilty. And smiling ...

LaraineRose says:

Yup! I'd say you have a strong case!

No, It's Merely the Idleness of Your Addiction That Did You In!

JaguarJulie says:

Ah -- me thinks not the recipes themselves, but how we lensmasters have stayed glued to our computers cranking out new lenses and participating in the forum -- that has packed on the pounds and inches!

Treasures-By-Brenda says:

Innocent until proven guilty?

Susan52 says:

It may have been the idleness of your addiction, but don't worry. I share the addiction, too!

Treasures-By-Brenda says:

"Innocent until proven guilty," Brenda says!

aj2008 says:

Too good to be legal? Absolutely! I have gained a few pounds since July, when I joined Squidoo - but then again inactivity due to a health problem may just have contributed too..... So maybe not.

You are right about the recipes. Many of them aren't cookbook recipes, but tried and true family favorites. They are old fashioned Grandma-type recipes. They are recipes handed down through the generations. There are probably even "secret" recipes that we probably shouldn't know. Forget about the cookbooks or scouring the Internet looking for recipes. Search Squidoo, and you'll have all your guests begging you for the recipe!
