Is there a traveler in your life? You know - the person who is planning a trip or is thinking about their next trip. The right travel accessories are a key part of travel safety, security and comfort. There are tons of travel accessories that make ideal birthday gifts and also address common travel safety and security concerns. Travel gifts are also a great idea for gift-giving occasions year round and need not be intended for travel abroad - perhaps someone on your shopping list enjoys local and/or domestic weekend excursions.

If you happen to be a traveler yourself, then do what I do and buy yourself a travel gift. After all, you deserve it and you want to be sure you get that travel accessory that's on your wish list.

GermanyIf you're not sure what to buy the traveler on your shopping list, think about security and safety issues. Do they have a secure document organizer or wallet - somewhere they can safely store their passport, tickets and money when they are going through airports or other crowded areas? A small travel purse is also a good idea, as is a secure daypack. Travel purses should be fairly small, so that they can easily be worn under a blazer or a jean jacket.

Another good idea is a small flashlight, which could be useful when returning to a hotel or holiday apartment at night or if there happens to be a power failure. Other handy items are travel size shampoos and soaps, which can be purchased in attractive travel kits. You could also consider purchasing electrical adapters or a universal electrical adapter, which is essential for travel in Europe.
