Goal Setting Success Methods For Taking Control of Your Life

There is just too much false information around about how to correctly set goals. What is needed is more true information to balance this fact. I hope that this article may shed some light on this area for you.

What is true information?

Well, funnily enough it's what actually works. Go figure! Here's a good test. If you are focusing on your goals and you are not feeling excited and enthusiastic about them, then something is wrong. You need to do something about it and not just continue doing it this way.

Setting Goals Is Easy, or Is It?

Setting goals IS easy, if it is being done correctly. Meaning, you know the right way to achieve your goals. Let's face it, if people could easily achieve their goals with very little work or know-how, then we would have 6 billion very rich people on this planet. But we don't do we? It's quite the opposite. 99% of people are struggling in their lives with many of them just trying to make ends meet.

I wish it were as easy as just saying, "I want to be rich." But it just doesn't happen like that. What you need is a step by step method that will keep you on the track to successfully achieving your goals. Whether those are, financial, health, business, sports, family or life goals.

What Would Be the Perfect Step-By-Step Method?

The best way would be for me to explain each step in detail. But, there is not enough space here to do that. I would suggest using the link on this page to sign up for my announcement list and I will let you know when I have released my step-by-step method for achieving your goals fast. Here is a brief outline though.

The first step, obviously, would be cleaning out the false and failed goals from your life. This would need to be done to the person's satisfaction. You don't want these failed goals to continue to get in the way and believe me, they ARE getting in your way. By false goals, I mean the ones that originally were not really yours, but somebody else's. i.e. a parent, a friend, a relative or someone you looked up to like someone famous.

The second step would be to really decide if the goals and dreams in the first step are something you would still like to pursue. No one can do this for you.

The third step is where you would write down the goals you want to achieve now or in the future. This would be added to the failed goals you decided you wanted to keep.

The fourth step would be to go over your goals and prioritize them. This just means there may be some goals that need to be done in a particular order. For example, you might have the goals to lose weight and get married. Probably, losing weight would need to be achieved first so you would look stunning in your nice, new wedding dress. You get the picture?

The fifth step is going over each goal on your list and really deciding that you do want this. There should be no doubt at all that you can and will achieve everything that you have on your list. This may take a bit of doing depending how negative you are at the time. In my e-book, I will have tips to help you do this.

On the sixth step, we now take each goal and expand it out until it is exactly how you envisioned it. How long does this take? It takes as long as it takes, no more and no less. It comes down to just how important your goals are to you. This is possibly the longest step.

Lastly, they would be extra tips to further enhance your goal making ability. You would also be encouraged to create your own methods for visualizing your goals. The quicker they become real to you, the quicker they will be realized.

Goal Setting Success Secrets For Enriching Your Life

Important Points to Consider in Achieving Your Goals

1. They should be ethical. It's no good making goals that would be illegal or harmful.

2. Your goals should be balanced. Don't make a goal that is only good for yourself and not for your family, friends or company. Of course there are goals that are yours. But, if you look closely you will see that what ever you do affects many others around you.

3. You should have very little doubt about being able to achieve your goals, or at least feel that it is possible to achieve them. If you can't do that, they may need to be tweaked a little.

How Long Should I Continue to Focus on My Goals?

As long as it takes for you to achieve them. This will be the most crucial part of your goal making. It is easy to feel dejected when things don't happen right away. This is human nature and the sole reason people give up on them. You will just have to become more than merely human. You will have to face and overcome this barrier if you want to be successful. If you read the stories of successful people you will find they all had to overcome their own barriers first.

Some Different Types of Goals

Financial goals - wanting to improve your financial condition for your self, your family or your company.

Business goals - wanting your business to do better or to expand.

Health goals - wanting to gain or lose weight, become fitter and healthier or to solve some bad physical condition.

Life goals - wanting to get more out of life, gain or improve an ability in some area of life or create great things that benefit many and make you famous.

Goal Setting Tips

Here are some goal setting tips to get you in the right goal setting mood.
  • Go to a quiet place where you won't be interrupted and just start writing goal ideas that come in to your mind. Don't think about it, just write your goals down no matter what they are or how long they are.
  • If you can't think of any goals you want to achieve then write a list of goals you DON'T want to achieve. This can work wonders by doing the opposite flow.
  • Alternately put your attention on a goal you want to achieve then a goal you don't want to achieve. This will help stop any indecision or uncertainty about your goals. Do this until you feel more certain.
