We are loosing tradition of having choirs at funerals, nowadays it is common just a farewell song on the trumpet... Beautiful lens...

When my father died, we celebrated his life, as it should be. Nice lens.

I'm really interested in this way of celebrating funerals. I grew up as a catholic, where funerals are seen in such a "heavy" way... while I think there can be so much emotion in a gospel song! I think you can say more singing than speaking, and I like gospel songs.
Thank you for your lens, I also apprecciated your "technical" suggestions about difficulty of playing and singing!

These are great selections! Funerals are the hardest services for me. I have always mentally recognized they are a homecoming celebration, but I still have a difficult time dealing with the separation. Usually I have to record the music in advance. It is just too difficult for me to sing at the actual services.

HI Joan! My favorite is, "Soon As I Get Home". I think that's the title.

Our church choir recently ministered at a funeral service. Since it was the first funeral I could remember, I expected all slow songs. The congregation was more focused on rejoicing that their loved one would suffer no more in this life, but rather present with the Lord. In other words they were "crunk" lol. We ended up singing "Worship the King" by Byron Cage, "Battlefield" by Norman Hutchins, and "Back to Eden" by Donald Lawrence. It was a high time in the Lord and the family was very appreciative.

I have heard In The Garden sung at funerals. It is such a beautiful song.
