From Celtic Festival, to Roman Saints, to Modern Day Halloween
Somewhere along the way, the Romans, in order to bring Holiness to a time normally revering the dead, moved All Saints Day to November 1. It is really between these two Peoples, and times, that Halloween evolved into what it is today; A Scare-fest!
Since Halloween falls on a weekend this year, it's a great time to watch some good frightening movies. What kinds of movies depends on the age, and individual personality, but it's all fun!
Plan your Halloween Movie Night
Some families may need some milder movies for the little one's before settling in to the really spooky stuff! Plan your night early. Send the little goblins out before 6 if you can. The earlier the better. Start them on the tame or cute movies, then when they are fast asleep, turn off your porch light, and pop your favorite scary movies in!
