Handheld Vacuum Reviews

Handheld Vacuums offer convenience and portability. They can be taken out and put away in no time with no cords to fuss with. Great for quick cleanups, car vacuuming, and general around the house quick tidy up's.

There are many options, sizes and accessory offerings on the market, so your selection is great and the choice not easy.

How to Choose the Right Handheld Vacuum

There are five things to look for when selecting a vacuum for handheld use.

1) Weight
2) Holding capacity and size of vacuum
3) Battery life
4) How easy does it get the job done
5) Cord or Cordless

One of the most critical factors when selecting your handheld vacuum cleaner is the weight. Be sure to pick one that isn't too big for you as that can result in strained muscles, back, neck, etc. as well as hesitancy in wanting to use it. You want something light and easy to wield so that the chore of vacuuming is less of a chore.

Capacity of the vacuum is next on the list. How much dirt can it hold in the dirt cup? Smaller vacuums are great because they are light and small, but you will have to empty them more often. If your new vacuum is for occasional or light cleanup, then the smaller units are what you seek.

Battery Life can be important if you are taking the handheld vacuum out on a boat, or in the car, or somewhere remote. If the battery only lasts a few minutes, then it's best to use it near where it can be recharged. Look for a unit that has a half hour plus running time for those remote vacuuming events.

Ease of Cleaning is important as you always want your vacuum to be in tip top condition for it to be at it's best cleaning ability. Make sure the dirt cup is easily removable.

Cord or Cordless is another important choice to make. If possible, go for the cordless as they offer the greatest flexibility and you won't have a cord to wind up and contend with all of the time. THe flip side is that corded units can be more powerful and there is no battery to recharge.

I have the Dyson Animal and highly recommend it. It is awesome for pet hair. It is very light weight. When I first got it, I thought the attachment hose was a pain to wrok, but I am use to it now. I love this vacuum. It is worth every penny!
