Harry Potter grew up with my teenagers or should I say they grew up with him. They consumed his books, faster than J.K. Rowling could write them, and they anxiously awaited the next book and then the movies. They had Harry themed birthday parties, wands and costumes. However, when they first knew Harry Potter, the selection of gift items was woefully lacking and we had to use our imagations for every detail. Mind you, I do think it was great that we were able to come up with some good ideas for our own Harry Potter world but I do wish that some of the great merchandise opportunities had existed when they were younger.
