Although both the LCD technology and Plasma technology have its fans, the LCD seems to be gaining in popularity. LCD technology has several advantages that justify its higher price tag. The picture quality has better contrast and color reproduction. In most cases, the LCD set will outlast the Plasma TV in terms of picture quality. The Plasma TV's are known for the "burn in" issue that happens after a lengthy display of an image. Plasma TV's do provide great dark blacks and overall picture consistency when viewed at wider angles. If you want a huge screen, the Plasma TV's are less expensive than the LCD. On the other hand, if you are more interested in a TV with a wide range of uses, you will be happier with an LCD TV. Bottom line, the choice between a Plasma TV or LCD TV will be based on your budget and your personal preferences.
