This hike is not for the faint hearted and again it can be hiked in a day. The Angels Landing hike leads you along the top of ridges with dramatic drops and unrivaled views of Zion Canyon. Lake Blanche, with the trailhead about 1/2 up Big Cottonwood Canyon, is probably my favorite hike in Utah. It's proximity to Salt Lake City (about a 30 minute drive) contributes a lot because it's can be easily tackled on a Saturday. It's about a 3 mile hike to 3 beautiful lakes, several waterfalls, and additional places to explore. The lake is in the shadow of Sundial peak, aptly named because of it's shape, which can also be hiked to.

These Timberland hiking boots are the best quality boots I've found lately. Here's why. They look robust and they are, but they are much lighter than they look. They also have very grippy soles for smooth rocks and ice and they include moisture wicking liners which help keep your feet dry and warm.
