Based on the hit ABC show Wipeout, this game uses the power of the Kinect to let you pit your speed and reaction times against a variety of obstacles. This great party game allows more than one person to play at a time, so you can get plenty of people in on the action. The best part is that you get commentary from the actual show hosts, but you don't have to face physical injury or public humiliation to do so... only your closest friends will know how bad you are! This game often comes with the Kinect controller, so it's no surprise that it's a fan favorite. You can enjoy a variety of adventures, from riding a raft down a rushing river, plugging up holes in a leaky piece of glass, or floating around and trying to pop bubbles (with or without a friend to help - or hinder - your progress). The games are easy to learn, but tricky to master, providing plenty of adrenalin-pumping action.

#3: Raving Rabbids: Alive & Kicking

From the trailer, it looks like this game is going to be all about crazy-looking rabbits (or rabbids, as I guess they'll be called) popping up out of the very floor of your living room, and having to stomp them out of existence. There are also other interesting mini-games included, such as one about using people to fill shapes that looks like it could be surprisingly fun.

It's a great way to combine the live-camera capabilities and the motion-sensing capabilities of the Kinect. And it's got up to four-player-at-a-time mode, which is always good for a Kinect game. Of course, you'll have to have plenty of space if you want to play with four players, but it's nice to have the option. Here's a good review on Gamespot that lays out the basics.

Kinect Sports lets you play events based on six different games with your friends - bowling, table tennis, track and field, soccer, boxing, and volleyball. Some games, such as bowling, you can play competitively against other people with each player taking a turn. Others, such as soccer, you can play with multiple people at a time. It's easy to jump into this game even if you've never played before.

Party games are probably going to be the genre of choice for a while for most Kinect owners. Anyone that has owned a Wii will know exactly what to expect out of most of the releases, too.
