Best Kinect Sports Games

Ranked #1,212 in Games, #38,497 overall

Get Off Your Couch And Play

It's good to have one of the best Kinect sports games available for when you can't play your favorite sports live.

The motion control capabilities of the Kinect make it so that this controller is the first to really allow you to play sports how they were meant to be played. You can kick soccer balls, swing at ping pong balls, and roll bowling balls almost exactly like you would in real life. And they'll definitely give you a workout - make sure to take a break once in a while, or you'll end up with sore muscles.

Vote Them Up!

Michael Phelps: Push the Limit: Have you ever wanted to pretend to swim in your living room? If so, this game is for you! You can check out this first look trailer on YouTube, but it really doesn't show much more than Michael Phelps and some random person swimming in a pool with cool digital overlays. Which is all fine and good, if you like that kind of thing, but doesn't say much about how the game will turn out. After watching this second Push the Limits trailer, we're still unsure if this is a cool idea, or just plain lame.

Big League Sports: This Kinect game has been kept mostly under the table, without receiving much interest or publicity. It lets you play six sports - soccer, basketball, hockey, baseball, football, and golf.

Let's Cheer!: Before you go asking, yes, cheering is definitely a sport - after all, cheerleaders receive even more head injuries than hockey players (Source). This well-executed game lets you relive your cheering glory days, try out the sport if you never had the chance, or practice you're moves if you're still in the game.

Sports games are both a showcase of how the Kinect started off as a Wii clone and how the Kinect will grow to be nothing of the sort. I'm very interested in seeing how the games evolve over the coming years.
