Customer Reviews:
"No laptop is perfect, but sometimes you just find a computer that works for you. This laptop does everything I need it to very well.

Positives:
I bought this laptop so that the entire family had a computer in the living room; the two of us use it regularly. I wanted something that had a new Intel Core processors and HDMI port so that we could hook it up directly to our TV. The best thing about this laptop is the price along with some of the newer features. The screen is bright and the keyboard is nice; I find myself using the 10-key more than I thought I would. Battery is lasting about 6 hours as I am surfing the web on Sundays while checking football scores and watching funny Youtube videos. For those that care about noise this thing doesn't really make any; the i3 processor doesn't seem to run hot and the fan rarely turns on.

Negatives:
I took off a star because the machine has a lot of junk software on it. I wish Toshiba would allow their customers to select an option that only boots the OS at setup and removes all the unnecessary stuff. Once I removed all the software the laptop loads in 15-20 seconds. This is not a serious gaming laptop or a serious media machine; my niece and nephew have played a few web games and it runs anything that doesn't require a dedicated video card.

Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase. I looked around and based off my price/features comparison from a brand I trusted I landed here. "

"Great laptop for everyday use. I use it mostly for surfing the web, videos, pictures, games, etc. I found it to be much smoother and faster than other laptops I've owned. I have no problem with running multiple programs at once including streaming football games and checking other scores at the same time. The image quality on the screen is amazing and having a full keyboard with a 10 key really comes in handy.

I'm not sure this computer is for the hard core gamers out there; but for the vast majority of us who use laptops for everday use (facebook, email, pics, videos, etc), you wont be able to find a better value than this one. "

"Many have commented on how great a laptop this is. I wanted to specifically address a question I had before purchase and have answered for myself.

I was concerned that the 2GB RAM would not be sufficient for my needs. I run productivity software, i.e. iWork, Office etc. I also stream netflix, amazon video, MLB, etc. A friend of mine had the 2010 Macbook air with 2GB RAM and reported no issues normally associated with insufficient RAM. I took the plunge, opting for the base model.

I can report that 2GB runs excellently. I have had up to 4 video streams going at the same time, MLB, Netflix, and two youtube videos, all running fine. No freezes, no spinning beach balls, etc. Now, I don't do video editing or resource intensive applications of that nature. In those cases, you may or may not have a problem.

As far as 64GB storage. I have all my applications, work and personal file folders, etc on this air with 20GB to spare. Could I have my entire photo and iTunes library on 64 GB? No, and it wouldn't fit on 128GB or 256GB for that matter. I use a portable external hard drive for those when necessary. "
-----------------------------------
"I've been a long time PC owner and have always vowed to never own a Mac. I considered them overpriced niche machines with subpar hardware for people that had more money than sense. I'm ready to admit that I was very wrong. I was looking for an ultraportable for school and I just couldn't find one that I liked. Finally, I gave in to reviews and bought the MBA 11. I figured I'd try it out and return it if it sucked. Well, I'm definitely not returning it. I love this computer. It's sleek, super light, and performs perfectly. I have the base model, because for someone who only uses a computer to type papers and browse the internet, you really don't need much more. This beats every windows machine I've owned, even those with more RAM and bigger harddrives. "

Customer Reviews:
"This computer is completely silent. I wasn't even sure it had a cooling fan until I downloaded a utility to monitor the fan speed. This computer is super fast, and the base plate never gets more than lukewarm. The light weight, small footprint, lighted keyboard, crisp screen and speed really make this computer shine.

The attention to detail is really outstanding. The cooling vents on the back of the base are completely covered by a sliding plate when the lid is closed, keeping dust out of the innards. The power supply has flip out legs for winding the cord for storage and the prongs can be removed so it can be used as a brick type supply with the supplied AC cord. The computer also has a green LED battery status gauge built into the left side of the base, which is activated by a flush button. The lid snaps shut quietly even though there are no cheesy stick-on rubber bumpers, and it is held closed by magnets. The built in light sensor shuts off the keyboard backlighting and brightens the display in bright ambient light. The computer also has a 3 axis accelerometer to protect the hard drive from damage. The attention to detail is why Macs are more expensive than the various PC clones. "

"Okay, I'm the first to admit that I'm not a computer person. I barely know anything about technology-only that I need it to survive. I had a Macbook for a couple of years that I bought from a friend and needed an upgrade. As this was the cheapest option available, I figured I'd go for it.

And I'm so glad I did. It is incredibly user friendly. At the setup it asked if I had another Mac I wanted to use to load documents, etc, from and it gave me an option for methods of doing so. I ended up using my external hard drive for it. The computer remembered everything the way I had it on my other system-right down to the last detail. Setting it up took almost no time. I got the 500gb with 4gb of RAM and it runs so well. I am going to be upgrading it to 8g just because I want it to be even faster but from what I can tell it doesn't need it.

The picture quality is incredible, I love that the keyboard is backlit, and the touchpad is so streamlined it actually makes it easier to use. I highly recommend this product whether you are a first time Mac user or a Mac lover from way back in the day. You won't be disappointed."
