"I was concerned that the 2GB RAM would not be sufficient for my needs. I run productivity software, i.e. iWork, Office etc. I also stream netflix, amazon video, MLB, etc. A friend of mine had the 2010 Macbook air with 2GB RAM and reported no issues normally associated with insufficient RAM. I took the plunge, opting for the base model.
I can report that 2GB runs excellently. I have had up to 4 video streams going at the same time, MLB, Netflix, and two youtube videos, all running fine. No freezes, no spinning beach balls, etc. Now, I don't do video editing or resource intensive applications of that nature. In those cases, you may or may not have a problem.
As far as 64GB storage. I have all my applications, work and personal file folders, etc on this air with 20GB to spare. Could I have my entire photo and iTunes library on 64 GB? No, and it wouldn't fit on 128GB or 256GB for that matter. I use a portable external hard drive for those when necessary.
If money is no object, then by all means go with the next version up....128GB Storage and 4 GB RAM. But if you want to save a a few bucks, buy some additional accessories, or not feel bad when you sell this beauty to upgrade to the next great thing a year or two down the road, you won't be disappointed with the entry level Macbook Air... "

"I've been a long time PC owner and have always vowed to never own a Mac. I considered them overpriced niche machines with subpar hardware for people that had more money than sense. I'm ready to admit that I was very wrong. I was looking for an ultraportable for school and I just couldn't find one that I liked. Finally, I gave in to reviews and bought the MBA 11. I figured I'd try it out and return it if it sucked. Well, I'm definitely not returning it. I love this computer. It's sleek, super light, and performs perfectly. I have the base model, because for someone who only uses a computer to type papers and browse the internet, you really don't need much more. This beats every windows machine I've owned, even those with more RAM and bigger harddrives... "

"You want a computer that is powerful enough to do real work. You also want something that has great battery life and is really portable. Oh yeah, you want it to look nice too. This machine is terrific and feels rock solid. It also has nice finishes like matching sleeve and case for the included wired ethernet and VGA video out dongles.
Pros
- Super fast power-on, wake, and shut-down/sleep -> no waiting around for the machine to be ready to do work
- The trackpad is silky smooth and very responsive and right clicking is done by pressind down the bottom right corner of the track pad
- Very light but rock solid
- Brushed metal looks very sleek and feels great
Cons
- Two finger scrolling is a bit jerky at times
- Takes a bit of practice to learn how to open the clamshell case "

"I really love this laptop. I first purchased the 13 inch version. I loved it so much that I bought a second one (11") for my wife. both of them are super fast. Resume time is always 2 seconds so it makes it awesome for travel and quick starts. Restart is only 20 seconds. Killer travel machine. Plan on getting a bluetooth mouse. The mouse isnt the best. I use it but it should loose a star or 1/2 star for the mouse. Love them both. I got 25% off retail price during the 2011 holidays. Makes it a no brainer..."

"I am an computer enthusiast. When my wife allows, I get to upgrade. Been researching a long time between dv6 6172,6173,6180. I wanted the i7, a good graphics card, and able to do video editing. This computer came in a good packaging, brand new. I did not have the same experience of an earlier review. The silver brushed metal is beautiful. My only three minor gripes are the added hp software that i dont need, no back-up dvd(but you can make one), and 6gb memory instead of the typical 8gb. Upgrading though is easy. Also noticed that when i detached the bottom panel to see the configuration, its kinda scary that you can break the panel, then you end up with a messed up laptop. Anyway, I dont plan to keep opening that panel. Everything works.
Beats audio was no improvement from the previous altec lansing, but its also not that bad either. I am extremely satisfied with this and had to go through different laptops before stuck with this. HP is committed to service. "
