I think it depends at least in part on the church. At some churches, it's perfectly fine and many people do it. At other churches, someone wearing jeans (particularly blue ones) would stand out from the crowd. Yet maybe the wearer doesn't mind standing out from the crowd. In any case, I certainly don't think someone should feel they can't go to church if all they have is jeans.
