Lower Back Tattoo Designs: how do we choose them??

Tattoos are personal. You are responsible for selecting something which will stay on your skin for the rest of your life. Obviously, you are able to  have them removed, but the procedure is expensive and some say very painful, so it's best to be confident that you have it right the first time round.

Your whole body is a canvas; there are so many places where you could get inked. Whether or not you have had tattoos before, if you're thinking of being inked, your lower back is a good area to have one.

How to choose the best lower back tattoo designs

In recent times, lower back tattoos have not been viewed positively and have been nicknamed "tramp stamps". With the increasing number of people who have them, it seems obvious that there are going to be some positive choices and some negative choices. If you want it, go for it, but try and spend lots of time researching to help ensure your choice is a good decision. Many guys also have a lower back tattoo; look at David Beckham, the footballer.

For many, having a lower back tattoo is a great decision because it permits you to alter your style of clothing to match whether you would like the ink to be on view. This is great if you happen to work in an office atmosphere. Of course, the extent to which your new ink will be on display will depend on what weather you live in.

Ladies have been attracted to this part of their body because the lower back is purportedly the centre of divine female creative spark. To highlight this part of your body is to highlight this energy and demonstrate your independence from others. On a more physical plane, a lower back tattoo will emphasise your feminine curves by focussing the eyes and flattering your shape. A further benefit of this location is that it is a proportionately large area which can be concealed, so it allows more creativity to be encouraged in the types of lower back tattoo designs which can be selected.

When deciding which of the many lower back tattoo designs to have tattooed onto your skin, you should remember that the tattoo must be for you - you have to want to be tattooed for yourself and not as a gift for another person. Harness your creativity for yourself! Once you are happy this is so,, there are a few decisions you need to make.

Firstly: the actual design. Go into any tattoo venue and you will see hundreds of options; it can be overwhelming. By having several ideas in advance of your visit will save you time and concentrate your ideas on what you want without distractions. Do you crave being inked with something related to space (stars, moons, planets, star signs)? How about something more ancestral (beautiful designs, possibly connected to ancestors or your country's forefathers)? Do you have a connection with symbols (crosses, beautiful celtic shapes, foreign languages)? Are you drawn to the animal kingdom (the pride of lions, eagles' strength, the grace of a deer)? Are you passionate about plants (the lifecycle of a gorgeous lotus, the elegance of a rose, your preferred flower's fragrance)? With the depressingly increasing rates of relationship breakdowns, it's best to stay away from the name of your partner. However, there's nothing stopping you from using their name if that's what you really want or the name of your children/ or parents.

Secondly: symmetry. The lower back is a perfect area for a mirror image design; your hips are symmetrical and a design which charts this symmetry will highlight your femininity and compliment your curves. Naturally, if you would prefer an assymetrical design, then go for it! Some cute little stars or even a tiger would be spectacular. Remember: it is your tattoo, so make it right for you!

Finally, black and white or color? Do you want to have a black and white tattoo (ageless, graceful, fine) or a colourful tattoo which definitely empowers your ink and completes the image you want? For many, the decision of whether to have color is design-dependant, but take some time to note down what you find attractive in the ink of other people.

Having a lower back tattoo is a unique means of drawing attention to your femininity and signifying your imagination. Try and be as unique as possible and change any of the plentiful lower back tattoo designs you find to harmonize with you completely. You will have it for life, so make your decision wisely and make the ink works for you!
