Asus produces decent quality netbook miniature laptops for less than $300. The Eee models are generally they are reviewed favourably and well liked. By choosing the right model, you can have a keyboard that is similar to a regular notebook or laptop. Obviously there's no number pad, but many of the note books don't have these either.

If you do quite a lot of work online, or often have multiple windows or tabs open or producing content, especially with graphics, you are going to want to look for a higher RAM. 2 GB upgrades are simple and easy to install and may be an option on an otherwise great model that would be a little slow with the factory 1 GB RAM. It gives you more choice or models anyway, so consider it.

If getting a deal on netbooks on Ebay

You can get some amazing deals on Ebay on top refurbished and used netbooks that are well under $300, even $200 or $100 if you shop around, but as always, buyer beware. Read terms and return policies carefully and make sure you are buying from a reputable seller with excellent feedback.

Make sure the language edition is correct and manuals and manufacturers warranties are present, in the right language and valid for the model you have bought. So make sure you know what is in the box and included. Will you have to buy a power source or battery, cables and cords, a case, headphones or ear-buds for sound?

And be sure the Operating System has everything you need to be able to start using it and surfing the internet right away. Some with some basic starter OS, you have to purchase an upgrade just to be able to use some other software, spreadsheet programs etc. This is more common with the cheapest personal computer models.

There are some great deals in affordable netbook laptops available on EBay. Make sure the seller is legitimate with good feedback and not selling stolen electronics. If the price is too good to be true, it may be.

Dell Inspiron Best Netbooks under $300 on eBay

The Dell Inspirons are another quality net book computer you can get on the internet for a decent price. As always on Ebay, buyer beware. Checking feedback and number of transactions is a must and buying from your own country will cut down on both duty and shipping fees.

Acer Aspire Netbook PC under $300 on eBay

These are hard to find new on Amazon under $300. Typically the refurbished or used netbooks are under that limit, but as the new models come out, they are in the $400 range.

Ebay provides a better chance to find a deal on the well-reviewed Acer Aspire personal computers.
